A crappy poem/attempt at a song by me

This was inspired by 'Circus Monster by Megurine Luka'. watch?v=l6EfzwbUFKY&feature=related

I adore this song, and the lyrics are actually very important to me. If anyone's interested, I found a French version along with a version with German subtitles.

watch?v=A4bSIfetZE8 (German subs)

Enjoy!~

A creature with skin blue like ice was held by its wrists in a small, barred cage. The bright lights blinded its red eyes, the hood of its torn jacket lying on it's bleeding shoulders. It cried silently, the tears streaming down its bloodied face and it's white hair matted and dirty. The Ringmaster whipped it's back, walking in front of the cage slightly to address his audience. "Ladies and Gentleman! Gather 'round to view the fantastic, one and only circus monster!" The crowd cheered as the creature was let out of it's cage, it's wrists now bound together.

Another strike on the back and the creature was on its knees, the Ringmaster standing high and mighty above it. He grinned sadistically at the monster on the ground. "Sing." he whispered into the other's ear.

The monster's eyes finally adjusted to the lighting and it looked up to instantly meet a thousand other pairs staring excitedly back at him. It looked around for a moment, receiving a blow to the head from the Ringmaster. Finally, the red eyes locked with the violet eyes of a young boy. He looked to be 17, with lovely golden locks on his head. The creature trained its eyes on the sad, but beautiful man. He seemed to hate what was going on at the moment; different to all those around him. Their eyes bore into each other until finally, the monster sang.

"How does it feel,

To be free?

To know love?

Not to be trapped behind bars of steel?

You mock me

About my differences.

But do they matter?

I am more than what you see.

And here I lay,

Staring into the eyes of an angel.

Prepared to die.

Prepared to be blown away.

Does it really matter,

What I have to say?

No, my words mean nothing

For I am simply, a circus monster."

It slumped to the ground, it's breaths steadily coming to a halt. The final thing it heard, was an angel's voice, calling something it never thought it would hear again.

Gilbert!

Finally, it's heart stopped beating. Whatever brightness remained in those once brilliant red orbs died, and the tent was filled with a solemn silence. Nobody thought that the monster could feel. Nobody thought that it had any emotions. Nobody, except for an angelic blond, with bright purple eyes, who looked to be 17. He called out the creature's name, knowing that it was too late, and unwilling to believe it.
