Summary: Asuka has to learn to stand on her own. Luckily, she's a fast learner.
Author's Note: I happen to be a huge Tekken fan, so I finally decided to get my feet wet and write my first fan fic. I also happen to love Asuka; she's one of the fiercest fighters in the franchise, so I thought it would be fun to base my first fic on her. Hope you like this!

Asuka Kazama was riding her bike through the streets of Tokyo, Japan; allowing the fresh air to breeze against her face as she whistled loudly and enjoying the beautiful scenery. The newest entrant in the King of Iron Fist tournament was having the time of her life living in Japan and enjoying all the Oriental country has to offer, however, sometimes, it's tough being the new kid and having to swim in a small pond. After all, she has a lot to learn if she's gonna be fighting.
Discovering that she has relatives that are living here has been mind-blowing to say the least. Upon learning that her aunt is Jun Kazama, her uncle is Kazuya Mishima, her grandfather is the departed Heihachi Mishima and soon, will learn that her cousin is Jin Kazama, Asuka was trying to learn more about her newly discovered family. With the exception of her aunt, her uncle, grandfather and cousin possessed the evil genes inside of them and even tried to take each other out; first with Heihachi throwing Jin out of the helicopter, then throwing Kazuya from a cliff before being brought down by them both. Now, Kazuya was head of the Mishima empire, but, Jin was lingering in the background; waiting and anticipating for his chance to rule the world.
Well, Asuka wasn't gonna end up like them. She's not gonna end up evil, conniving and bastardy like her male family members. No, she's gonna continued to be pure, smart and determined like her dearly departed aunt (who ends up evil herself later on) and continues to bring peace, love and prosperity to her fellow man.
She's one of the fiercest fighters out there, but she's more known for being a peacemaker, being nosy and meddling in other people's business. And, yes, she does has a nice rack on her; which is why she has so many male admirers staring at her and quickly agreeing to whatever she wants them to do. However, when the admiration becomes too much, she has to take them down a peg or two in order to set them straight.
As she continued riding her bike through the streets of Tokyo, she realized that if she wants to make it in this world, she's gonna have to stand on her own two feet, trust her instincts and keep her eyes open on whoever may try to overstep her boundaries. She may be young and impressionable, but she's no fool. Having the Kazama/Mishima name has helped her along the way, however, she's gonna do her best not to possess the evil gene that has consumed her uncle and cousin.
Hell, if anything, she'll go so far than to try and save them from impending doom.
But, as she headed around the corner and continued peddling her bike at a rapid pace, there's only one person she's gonna have to rely on as the tournament fast approaches:
Herself.
Standing on her own is her only best option to survive.
