We all have notes,
Notes that we've written,
Poured our heart into,
But never intended to send.
I guess this is what I would tell you
If you were still here.
It's been awhile.
I haven't seen you in a long time,
Not since you left.
I remember that day to clearly,
And it still hurts too.
You didn't want to leave,
Always wanted to be there with me,
Together,
The best of friends the universe has seen.
Foolish at times putting yourself in danger for someone like me.
But still you did.
What's worse is that I had to be the one to do it,
I had to make you leave.
It was for the best,
But still my hearts breaks.
You made the room bright,
Loud with your voice,
But still it was great.
And now everything is quiet,
No voice to fill it because mine is still not strong enough to speak.
Oh god,
What am I going to do without you.
You saved me,
An old,
Weary traveler who could no longer save himself.
But still you did it.
And though you don't remember,
Though you aren't by my side,
I know you are still out there,
And for you I continue on.
So, though I know you will never read this,
I wish you the best.
