Chapter 1
One night Rory gets home from Yale around 9 and walks in and sees her mom tucking her 8 year old brother Ryan into bed on the couch.
''hey Mom hey Ry!'' Rory says
''hey hunnie what are you doing home?'' Lorelai asks her
''where's Mia did she go to bed already?'' Rory asks her
''yea hunnie she went to bed around 8:30 she was exhausted from school.'' Lorelai tells her
''oh okay.'' Rory says
''ok you all set bud?'' Lorelai asks him
Ryan nods falling asleep.
''ok g-night bud I love you.'' Lorelai tells him and kisses his head
''night bud.'' Rory says and also kisses his head
''come on.'' Lorelai says and wraps her arm around Rory's back and takes her into the kitchen
''take a seat.'' Lorelai tells her
Lorelai gets some cookies out of the cabinet and puts them on the table and sits down with Rory at the table.
''so what are you doing home?'' Lorelai asks her
''well I'm here because I need to get my skiing stuff and and I'm here to spend the night.'' Rory tells her
''really where are you going?'' Lorelai asks her
''well these new friends of mine Logan,Colin,Finn,Steph, and Rose and I are all going skiing this weekend up at Finn's parent's house up in the White Mountains and they boys are picking me up here in the morning.'' Rory tells her
''oh cool.'' Lorelai says
''yea I just hope that Mia is awake before I leave.'' Rory says
''well what time are you leaving?'' Lorelai asks her
''I don't know early probably so we can get a few runs in by the end of the day.'' Rory tells her
''oh well she probably won't be but I'm sure you can wake her up so you say can hi I'm sure she would appreciate seeing you.'' Lorelai tells her
''okay good.'' Rory says
''yea so is Luke home yet?'' Rory asks her
''ah no hun not yet he had to work late tonight.'' Lorelai tells her
''oh okay.'' Rory says
''yea so how's school?'' Lorelai asks her
''school's hard but I like it.'' she tells her mom
''so who are these people your going skiing with
''just some friends that I met at our opened door party the other night.'' Rory tells her
