1. warmth
You've always stuck to the shadows, because you feel that's where you belonged. Shadows were cold and dark and lonely and they were your only friend. Your tiny world was dull and freezing and secluded.
In other words: perfect (For somebody like you, anyway)
Then you meet her, and you wonder why she's so damn annoying, but so very intriguing at the same time. She illuminates everything like the sun, and her warmth spreads everywhere like flames in a field.
Whenever you see her, you gradually find yourself clinging to that warmth as if you were a moth and she was a flame. It's a problem because now you can't live without her warmth.
You would've been fine without it, but now you need it.
(And the weakness is killing you.)
2. wonderland
You've fallen down hole upon hole upon hole searching for that rabbit with the dull eyes and the cruel and mocking smirk, because he has the one thing you had hoped nobody would ever take.
Your heart.
(Because as you watch him run and check his watch numerous amounts of times, you can feel your heart beating inside of your chest like it's ready to burst.)
But you are not Alice. You are not the girl with the frilly blue dress and the golden hair. You are only the girl in the plain white dress with brown pigtails who wishes she was invited.
(And each time he's within your grasp, he slips away like there was no one there in the first place. Each time you can feel yourself break.)
3. curlicue
There were days when he wanted to see her break, to see if there were any tears or frustration or pain behind her cheerful and strong demeanor.
He wanted to yank her by her trademark curlicues and see if she would yell in pain, even if for only a second. Just to see if there was weakness behind that toothy smile of hers.
Because there was a strength in her you would never, could never, have.
4. sully
He was rude and imperfect and cruel and hers, because she had dirtied her hands to get him. And she liked the feeling it left to be bad, even if she wasn't.
Whenever he was with her, he could see all the stains he had slowly disappear.
He felt as if he was finally cleaning himself from past regrets and broken promises.
And they used each other for their own selfish reasons, because they would never admit to themselves how much they loved each other.
5. morning
When you woke up that morning, you didn't expect to see her sleeping opposite from you, a few feet away. Then you remember that yesterday you barged into her apartment exhausted and injured from training a little bit too hard. She was shocked out of her senses, and this gave you a sort of odd pleasure.
Then you fell, and you didn't hear her frantically call your name as you dropped.
When she woke up, she forced you to stay and rest. You wanted to leave and train more but you stayed and watched her flit about and fix breakfast, anyway.
The smells coming from the kitchen were uncomfortable and unfamiliar, because you've never had a home.
And you've never had such a pleasant morning.
(Though you didn't admit it.)
6. imitation
It was foolish of you to forget your umbrella, so you run through puddles and hope that you won't get too wet. The sky seems to be spiting you, though, because soon you're soaked and your shoes are squelching and soggy.
Then you find your saviour within a familiar looking red-head, and you quickly dash towards him.
At first, he pushes you away. Then he notices that you're soaking wet, and grunts before reluctantly letting you in under his red umbrella.
You note that the color is a poor imitation of his red hair, and the thought makes you smile.
