"Father?" Scorpius called as he stepped out of the fireplace into the seemingly empty Manor. "Scorpius," Draco greeted, walking in the room. "What brings you home on this fabulous day?" he drawled as he took his tea from Bobble, the House-Elf. Bobble offered Scorpius some, which he kindly declined.
"I'm going to propose to Roseanne Weasley, and I want the family ring," Scorpius said, getting straight to the point. Draco dropped his tea cup and it shattered against the floor. "What?" he exclaimed, choking on his tea. Scorpius stood his ground. "I am going to propose to Rose. I would like to have to family ring to give to her. I thought I should ask you before I asked Mother," he said firmly.
"You want to propose to that…that… Half-blood Weasel?" Draco sputtered. "She is not a weasel," Scorpius snapped, "and I care not of the status of her blood. I love her and intend to marry her." "I am not letting you taint the Malfoy family bloodline!" Draco snapped. "As soon as she comes of age, you are to marry Lois Fudge as to keep our family pure," he all but yelled.
"But I don't love her," Scorpius yelled back. "You are so selfish, Father. You don't care if I'm happy as long as I'm doing what you want me to!" "That's what my father did to me, but after I got over myself, I found happiness in Astoria," Draco snapped, stepping closer to his son. "I found happiness in Roseanne," Scorpius said firmly.
Astoria Malfoy stepped into the room. "Boys, what's going on in here?" she asked. Draco turned to look at her. "Astoria, thank Merlin. Maybe you can talk some sense into our son," he said, stepping aside so that she could face Scorpius. Her tired face smiled. "Hello, Scorpius," she said to her son. "Hello, Mum," he greeted her, giving her a small hug. "Now, what's all this about talking some sense into you?" she asked him.
Scorpius took a deep breath and told his Mother, "I want to propose to Rose Weasley." He waited for his mother to blow up and start yelling, but instead she smiled. "Well, I'm glad. What's the fuss about?" "Astoria!" Draco yelled. "Father won't let me have the family ring," Scorpius said accusingly. "Oh, you mean this ring?" she asked, slipping said ring off of her left hand.
Scorpius nodded eagerly. "Yes, I would like to propose to Rose with it," he said. Astoria smiled and placed the ring in his opened hand. "Astoria! Are you really going to let him marry that half-blood?" Draco screeched as Scorpius' fingers closed around the small ring. Astoria looked at Draco and shook her head. "You've been spending too much time with Lucius," she said sadly. "It doesn't matter whether or not she's of pure blood descent. What matters, is that our son is happy," Astoria said reasonably. Scorpius smiled hugely and hugged his mum. "Thank you Mum," he said in her ear as Draco exploded.
"I CAN'T BELIVE YOU WOULD LET HIM DO THIS!" he yelled. Scorpius and Astoria left the room and walked up to the large front doors. "Time to go ask Rosie's father for his blessing," Scorpius sighed when he was standing outside of the Manor. Astoria smiled at her only son. "Just be your regular, charming self. I'm sure you'll wear him down eventually," she smiled. "Thanks, Mum," Scorpius said sarcastically. Astoria laughed. "Bye," she said to her son. "Bye Mum," he said before apperating on the spot.
If dad was this hard on me, I'm sure Ron'll kill me,
A/N: Just a little fic about Scorpius asking his father if he could marry Rose. I've read a lot of stories about Scorpius asking Ron, but never a story of him asking his own father. Huh, anywhoo… there you go. I'll probably post a fic of Ron's reaction and of the actual proposal. :D Alrighty :D
Reviews make me post the Ron fic :D
