The Lonely Wanderer

He wanders through time
Seeing all the wars and the salvation
The pain and the joy
Every civilisation forevermore

He has friends sometimes
But so many are lost from his path
His life too long
His losses big enough to keep a star burning

He never stops and never stays
Watching from afar
The adventure he can no longer truly enjoy
His flight from normal life

He runs and runs
No longer remembering why
Just that in the universe he always saves
There's an awful lot of running to do.
