But Friends Make Mistakes
Emily
I sat back down on my bed. I was humming a tune. I was brushing my dolls hair.
"Emily, your father is here to take you home." The nurse said. She packed my bag while I brushed the dolls hair.
"Okay. It will be a pleasure to see him again." I said.
"Of course Emily. Now, remember what I told you. If you think about hurting yourself, call this number." She said handing me a card. I nodded. She took me out to the visitor room and handed my stuff to my father.
Jayden and the others burst in.
"Emily! We understand now. You weren't hurting yourself. Someone has been carving words into you." Jayden said out of breath.
"What are you talking about? No one has been carving words into me. It was me. I wanted help. I felt responsible for a lot of things. I needed it physical pain." I said with a smile.
"Now if you don't mind. I want to take my daughter home to get some rest." My father said. I hugged him.
"My beautiful baby girl." He said.
"Sir, is your name Ji?" My nurse asked my father.
"No, my name is Patrick." He replied.
"Then you're not allowed to take her home. Only Ji can take her home even if he is not family to her." My nurse said.
"I am Ji." Ji spoke as he walked in.
"License?" My nurse asked. Ji handed her his license.
"Great. Here's her stuff. I told her if she thinks about doing it to call us. She's going to need to rest for a little bit, no physical activities, make sure she takes her vitamins and give her these pills." The nurse said handing Ji a bottle of pills and my bag. He took them.
"She may be loopy for a little while, we just had to sedate her." The nurse said.
"Sedate? Why?" Jayden asked.
"She wouldn't take her nap. She's supposed to nap with the pills here. It will relax her body and a pain killer. It numbs the ody so we have our patients sleep." She explained.
"I went nighty nite!" I beamed.
"Yes you did Emily. I'll help you get her into the car." The nurse said.
"We walked." Mike said.
"Well you will have to come back with a car because Emily isn't in shape to walk." The nurse said. She started to lead me back to my room.
"Wait. I want a minute with my daughter, alone." Father said. The nurse nodded and walked me over. She sat me at a table.
My friends waited, the nurse stood over by the bushes.
"Tell you friends to leave you for a minute." Father said.
"Can you guys leave me alone for a minute?" I asked. They backed away and headed for the door. They're going to get a car…..
"Savannah? Kelsey?" Father said.
"What?" I asked.
"Do you want your friends to end up dead?" Father asked.
"No father."
"Why'd you make them think I was hurting you?" He asked.
"Father! I didn't I promise! They just thought about it. I didn't say a word." I begged.
"I want you to tell them you are coming home with me. You can't be trusted." He said.
"Okay father." I said.
The loopyness seemed to wore off. I was more serious.
"You're leaving, now, come on." He said. He grabbed my hand and led me out to our car. The nurse called out my name. I looked down, trying to ignore her. I can't though. It's like she's calling out for me to tell the truth, to turn back so I can be safe. It's like she wants to protect me. It's as if I am calling out to myself that I should NOT go with him. That I can't trust him.
But I still go with him. I will become hidden by him. I will become his new Nathalia…..
Nathalia…..
So who is Nathalia?
And why did Emily go with him? Is it because of the doctors at the hospital? What will Jayden do when he learns about this? When will Emily be seen next? What will her father do to her as a punishment?
