A/N: I just thought this up and decided to post it. Enjoy.
In Comparison
--
Abby Fujimoto knows that her 'family' will never be as close as the one they formed on the beach. She knows that they don't know each other well enough to call themselves a family. She knows they never will.
The three of them, they're barely friends, and she has no idea where Captain Russell fits in. They're never going to know each other well enough to pick up on the other's feelings. They probably won't even want to know.
They were separated from each other, and that only made it worse. They won't have the time that the others had. They won't have the memories, good or bad, because they didn't have enough time to make those memories. If they did, they did it without her.
She knows they won't be able to become a family. She knows they never will. They could have, at one point, before the storm, before she got separated from the others. Now, though, she knows they could never have a good a family as the one on the beach, because she's seen it.
She knows that because she's seen the perfect example of a family, it won't work. She'll always be comparing, and that makes Abby cry.
