"N-no! Get away from me! I don't wanna! No, no, no, no! I don't wanna hurt you! Stay away!" she yelled, backing away from the child of Hermes who had asked her to play.

Several half bloods turned around, staring at this little new kid crouched against the wall, mumbling to herself over and over that she won't she won't she won't hurt anyone again.

One child stood up, his chair hitting the floor.

He raced over to the sound of the little girl, his heart thinking before his mind.

He was a child of Hypnos, able to see into the mind and dreams of others. Something about this girl was different, he knew, and he wanted to know what.

He pierced the crowd that had gathered around the young lass, drawing as close as he dared. He crouched down about five feet away from her.

"What is your name?" he asked quietly.

She looked up, her hands detatching from their place on her head.

"B-Bethany," she managed, hiccuping slightly.

"Would you like to tell me what's wrong, Bethany?" he inqured gently.

"Not-not here," she whispered, waving her arm weakly at the crowd gathered around them.

"Then, would you like to walk with me to someplace better?" her expression softened, and her body relaxed a fraction, before she nodded a simple 'yes'.

He stood up, and she followed suit, keeping a fair distance from him.

He began walking, and a path about ten feet wide was cleared between the half-bloods to allow him to pass. She shuffled after him, keeping pace.

After a few moments of silence, the boy asked aloud, "Why did you come with me?"

She responded simply, "You remind me of my brother, when he was younger."

"Where is he now?" he asked hesitantly.

"I don't wanna talk about it." she said curtly.

"Ok."
