"Oh for she's a jolly good fellow, which nobody can deny!"

The staff of Cameron Mitchell's favourite restaurant smiled as they good wished the occupants of table thirteen and presented them with a cake. Had they known that two of their customers were aliens from different planets, a thief and a warrior at that, they may not have been as overly welcoming. Nevertheless, the waiters and waitresses smiled and applauded, leaving the table of people to enjoy their celebrations.

"Is this for me?" Vala asked, her face lit up with surprise. Sam nodded warmly.

"Thanks!" said Vala, scooping up some icing with her finger. Mitchell chuckled and Teal'c took the cake to cut it.

Noticing that his three friends were otherwise occupied, Daniel let his suspicions be known.

"Cake?" he asked, raising his eyebrows.

"My idea!" said Sam, happily.

A smirk tugged at Daniel's face. "Really?" he asked. "You didn't ask for any help on that one?"

"No," said Sam, innocently, trying not to smirk back.

"Oh," said Daniel. "Because cake isn't usually your thing. I mean, usually Jack is the one to…"

"Been on any dates lately, Daniel?" Sam interrupted mockingly, looking from Daniel to Vala.

Touché

Cam, who, by now had stopped chuckling, looked from Daniel to Sam. They seemed to be having some kind of secret contest.

"Am I missing something?" he asked.

Sam looked gingerly at Daniel, who shrugged back.

"Well, for once you're not missing your pants," Sam said with a wicked grin. The whole table laughed.

As the company of table thirteen's laughter rang on, they missed the wink and the smile between Daniel and Sam. They missed the silent confirmation that, finally, they had both found happiness.
