When Alice got home, she found Aubrey dancing in the middle of their apartment. "Hey Aubrey. What are you doing?" said Alice.
"I'm dancing," said Aubrey.
"I can see that," said Alice. "It's just...why?"
"I wanted to," said Aubrey.
"Okay." Alice plopped herself down on the sofa.
"Would you like to join me?" said Aubrey.
"Not really," said Alice. "I mean I can't dance."
"Really?" said Aubrey.
"Yes really," said Alice. "Did I tell you about Homecoming?"
"I don't think so," said Aubrey.
"Well remind me never to tell you sometime," said Alice.
"C'mon, you can't be that bad." Aubrey went over to her iPod player and flipped through her playlist. "Here's a good song. Tell me you can't dance to this."
"I won't," said Alice.
"We'll see," said Aubrey.
Soon the song started playing.
Oh don't you dare look back
Just keep your eyes on me
I said you're holding back,
She said shut up and dance with me!
This woman is my destiny
She said oh oh oh
Shut up and dance with me
"Good choice," said Alice. "I still won't dance."
"You say that now." Aubrey began singing along with the song.
We were victims of the night,
The chemical, physical, kryptonite
Helpless to the bass and faded light
Oh we were born to get together
Born to get together
Alice got up from the sofa. "I'm just getting some water."
"Sure you are," said Aubrey.
She took my arm,
I don't know how it happened.
We took the floor and she said
Aubrey grabbed Alice's arm. "You know you want to."
"Fine," said Alice.
Oh don't you dare look back
Just keep your eyes on me.
I said you're holding back,
She said shut up and dance with me!
This woman is my destiny
She said oh oh oh
Shut up and dance with me
"See," said Aubrey. "You're not that bad of a dancer."
"Yeah," said Alice. "I'm actually kinda surprised."
"C'mon" said Aubrey. "You're a really good-"
Just then they both tripped over the sofa and landed on the floor. "Are you okay?" said Alice.
"Yeah," said Aubrey. "So is this what happened at Homecoming?"
"No," said Alice.
"Are you ever going to tell me what happened at Homecoming?" said Aubrey.
"No," said Alice. "I'm taking that story to the grave."
