Tricks and Kisses

One lazy afternoon in the palace, Eugene was out in the gardens reading a book about the history of Corona. You see, he would really much rather spend his time doing something else a little more entertaining, but if he wanted to marry Rapunzel and become prince consort, then he'd have to put up with it. He wasn't too happy with this arrangement, as well as having to go to all sorts of boring lessons, but he'd do anything for his Blondie.

As he was reading the very dull and useless book, dozing off quite a few times, he heard his little, now-brunette beauty call his name.

"Eugene! Eugene!" he looked up to see Rapunzel racing towards him. Her cheeks were flushed from running and her bright green dress swished around her long legs. Eugene thought she looked absolutely beautiful.

"Well, hello Blondie." he said "What are you doing here?" Rapunzel spent the afternoons

in princess lessons and Eugene didn't want to get her in trouble again, by being seen with him, considering what happened last time he got caught trying to sneak her out of her lessons.

"I hurt myself." was Rapunzel's simple, yet alarming response.

"What? Where? Are you okay? How bad is it?" Eugene said frantically while standing quickly from his spot on the edge of the fountain edge, concern in his deep brown eyes.

Rapunzel was always getting scrapes and bruises from their 'adventures', but Eugene never liked her being hurt and was rather protective of her, trying to make sure no harm came to her.

"I want you to kiss it better." She said, ignoring all of his questions. Eugene hesitated for a second, wondering if he should just pick her up and carry her to the royal healer, to make sure what happened wasn't fatal, but then decided against it and sighed.

"Alright then Blondie." He said reluctantly. "Where is it?"

"Right here." She said pointing directly at her soft, pink lips. Eugene stared at her for a moment and then slowly started to grin, all concern disappearing from his face, happiness replacing it.

"It'll be my pleasure." He said, pulling her close and pressing his lips up against hers.

Best. Day. Ever
