As often as it snows
It was snowing! In Vegas! This almost never happened. In the four and a half years Sara had been in Vegas, she had never seen snow once.
The night air was crisp and Sara could see her breath, which was definitely a first in Vegas.
'God, it's beautiful' she thought. She closed her eyes and just stood there letting the snow fall onto her. It was then she realised she felt peaceful.
Sara opened her eyes to see a white blanket of snow covering the ground. It all looked so peaceful, maybe for one night Vegas would be at peace. She closed her eyes again and just listened to the sounds Vegas had to offer.
"Sara"
Sara almost jumped out of her skin when she heard her name being whispered. Stood beside her was the man she loved more than anything and yet hated at the same time.
She had heard his conversation with the doctor. He loved her; he just couldn't risk having her. God forbid his career be ruined because he chose the women he loved.
Sara turned to see him standing there looking at her. "Yes Grissom?" She really wasn't in the mood to talk to him right now, she had just forgotten about him for the first time in weeks and now he just stood there looking at her.
"Why are you standing out here? It's freezing." To Sara, that's exactly how she felt and not because of the weather. She was frozen, she didn't care about anything anymore, she just didn't feel anything anymore. What was the point?
"Just being one with the snow." She replied with a half laugh. "What are you doing out here?"
"Looking for you actually."
'Oh god,' Sara thought 'I haven't done anything wrong lately, have I? Shit! Why can't I remember?'
"We have a case out in Henderson, all hands on deck, we are leaving in five." And with that Grissom turned and went back inside.
'Of course it was work, what else could it be?' Sara asked herself as she headed back inside. Grissom talking to her about anything personal happened as often as it snowed!
