Written when Clary finds Jace kissing Aline in Alicante
Clary pushed past Isabelle and ran up the stairs; "Izzy, I need to talk to Jace" she called back. "You cant, Clary stop please just wait," said Isabelle but it was too late Clary thundered through the doors and stopped dead in her tracks. Clary felt like someone had just dumped her in the Hudson on a December morning. She saw Jace holding some girl, his arms wrapped round her while he kissed her passionately. She froze she couldn't move, couldn't speak then Isabelle came rushing in which alerted the kissing couple to their presence. The girl gasped and blushed bright pink turning round to button up her blouse Jace just stood there expressionless. "I'm s-s-sorry" Clary stuttered, turning around to leave, but the girl walked towards her and smiled "Hi I'm Aline" she said with a smile she couldn't help but noticing that she was very pretty with exotic features and long dark hair. She held out her hand and as Clary couldn't see any way around it she shook it woodenly. "You must be Jace's sister," says Aline with a sweet smile that showed off her perfect white teeth. "Yeah, I'm sorry excuse me," says Clary.
Clary turned and ran back down the stairs tears blurring her vision. She swiped them away she hated for Jace to see her cry like a little girl because he had apparently moved on. She ran down the stairs and out the doorweaving in and out of unfamilar streets then suddenly realized two things one she had run to a dead end and that she was not alone. Jace had followed her. She whirled around she saw Jace's mouth open as if to speak and before she could stop herself words began flowing like a torrent. "How could you?" she screamed, "I-I-I" Jace stuttered it was the first time Clary had seen him lost for words. "No don't, don't try to explain I know what we are, I know we can never be together. But still you can feel this, you can feel how we are supposed to be together, how my heart beats when I'm around you. I can feel how you look at me like I'm the only person in the world. I can tell Jace when you look at me you love me and not how a brother and sister are suppose to love each other. So for once and your life admit it don't cover up your feelings with smart remarks and humour. Admit it so we can move on because I cant do this anymore it hurts too much watching you fooling around with someone else when I know how you feel about me. So just say it, just say it so we can stop this."
Clary stopped breathing hard Jace looked at her his beautiful eyes wide. "Fine, I love you and your right not how a brother and sister are suppose to love each other. And I know it's sick and twisted and wrong. But I want you Clary and even worse I want you even if it's for this minute right now or for the rest of my life. But I can never have you Clary not in the way the both of us want. So help me God let me just take this even if it all I can ever have, let me just have this." He moved so fast he was just a blur and before Clary could even protest his lips were on hers. He held her against him pushing her back against the wall in the middle of the deserted street. He kissed her like he never had before with a complete sense of abandon putting all the desire, all the love he had for her into that kiss. Their lips parted for a second and Clary heard him say "This is it from now on I will try and stay away from you to stop feeling this away and by the angel if I manage it, it will be the hardest thing I will even do". He kissed her one last time quick and fleeting and turned and fled, leaving Clary staring after the love of her life that she was never suppose to love.
