The Last Rider Christmas.
I do not own any of the characters.
It's almost Christmas and I was bored so I came up with this. Don't worry still working on my other story. - Bethwat
Alex rolled out of bed, it was Christmas day. Ian had not come home last night so Alex was probably not going to see him this year.
He could hear someone downstairs rooting around the kitchen. He smiled Jack was getting breakfast ready and knowing her getting some things down last minute, last night Alex had waited for Jack to go to sleep before he dropped his presents for her and Ian under the tree.
Alex jumped into the shower for a quick wash before he went downstairs to join Jack in whatever she was doing now.
Christmas was both a big and small event for the Rider household, it was the only holiday or celebration that Ian normally came home to, he doesn't even come for Alex's birthday. A normal Christmas would be everyone in the morning comes down and they have some breakfast, then they would give out the gifts. Then they would go to John and Helen Riders graves to talk to them and give them a Christmas gift and flowers. Lastly, they would have a Christmas dinner and messed around with the gifts they got each other.
They both sat down to eat their breakfast and when they finished Alex asked: "Is it alright if we go see my parents before we do gift this year?"
"Sure thing Alex if that's what you want to do." Jack understood why he wanted to go to the graves first.
"Thanks, Jack, I'll go get my things."
The graveyard was cold and empty, no-one was there accept from Alex and Jack. Jack had sat down on a bench a way back so that Alex could talk to his parents without her being in his way. Alex sat down between his parent's graves and put one hand on each. "Hi Mum, Dad, " Alex said softly. "It's Christmas again and it's just me and Jack this year. I sometimes wonder what Christmas would have been like if you both or just one of you was still here with me." Tears started to fall down Alex's face, "I know you would have loved it, the jokes and gifts, messing around playing games." Alex took a deep breath. "I have got you both a present again this year and I have put it in the box like I have done every year. Mum, I got you a photo album with lots of pictures in it. Both of me, Jack and some of Ian as well as something I think you would like." Alex looked towards his dad's grave, "Dad I got you a playlist of music, Ian is normally closed off when I try to talk about you and Mum but I managed to get him to tell me what kind of music you liked, the funny thing is it's a lot like mine." Alex paused and had a slight smile. "I hope your both happy together where ever you both are and when I die I hope that I'm able to meet you both properly." With that, Alex turned around and walked back to Jack.
What do you think?
