Pieces

Rukia sat down next to the window. She looked out at the cold night. The moon shone and casted an eerie yet beautiful light on her. Rukia body was still. For hours she sat there, still like a doll. Her violet eyes always searching, but for what?

Rukia never felt like she belong anywhere. Not with her Nii-sama and the Kuchiki clan. She felt more like a promised burden. Most of the clan members would happily agree to the first opportunity to rid of her.

No longer did she feel at home with Renji. He was a lieutenant, too busy for her, with his paper work and duties. He also had many friends. Why would he miss her when he had all the friends to go hang out or get some drinks with. Well they have not been as close as they use to since they enrolled to the Shinigami Academy.

As of being in the 13th Division, she felt out of place. Sure, It was a warm, happy environment and Captain Ukitake was extremely kind to her. At times she was very happy and felt very fortunate to have such a nice division but she didn't feel like she was truly happy there...Not since Kaien-dono died.

Living in the human world made her happy. She felt like she belonged. That feeling soon left when her Nii-sama and Renji came to take her back to Soul Society. She was dead. The dead doesn't belong in the human world. She treasured the time she spent with Ichigo and the gang, but the fact that they were alive and they belong there in the human world while she belong in Soul Society as a shinigami.

A tear fell. Tear after tear fell, running down her pale skin. Rukia made no movement to wipe the tears. She felt vulnerable and fragile as glass, one move would make her shatter. The tears fell to the ground faster. She let out all the sadness and loneliness she gather out through out the years in those tear drops.

A pale finger brushed her cheek, catching a tear. Rukia looked up into a pair of green eyes. Strong arms wrapped around her. Rukia's tears stopped when she was embraced. She felt safe. Warmth flooded through her veins. His green eyes stared into her violet eyes. He leaned down. His lips touched hers. His lips were cold but sweet and gentle.

"Please don't cry." He said in a soft, soothing voice.

Rukia rested her head on his shoulder. Her loneliness left her with those words. His words left goosebumps on her skin. She felt something she never felt before. It felt right, being in his arms. She fit perfectly in his arms. Could the last puzzle piece not be me but him?

Rukia found what she was searching for. A small smile formed on her face, a blush redden her cheeks. "Thank you, Ulquiorra."
