"Friend" is Just a Word

AN: A short story I wrote. What exactly DID Gordo write in Lizzie's yearbook?

Larry Tudjman held on tightly to Miranda's yearbook. He was desperate to write something she'd always remember, but he always had a problem with what. He decided to read over the other signatures...

"Hey Miranda, I hope you have fun this summer!" -Lizzie

"Angel's don't always need wings." he decided to write, finally.

Larry, after reading over 76 signatures, noticed Gordo didn't sign it. He shrugged it off and handed Miranda back her yearbook.

Lizzie watched Tudjman leave the small assembly, noticing absently that someone was talking to her.

"Yo, Liz?" asked Ethan Craft.

"Yes?" she responded.

"Can I sign your yearbook?"

"Sure," she answered. "As soon as Gordo gives it back," she mumbled. Scanning the crowd she noticed that Gordo wasn't there, so she decided to look for him.

"Hey, Miranda, I want to see something, I'll be back." Miranda only smiled, and whispered to her retreating back: "Go Get 'Em Tiger".

"Gordo?" Gordo looked up at the person who called him. He was deep in thought. He wanted the most wonderful, beautiful, reliable friend he'd ever known, to know what he felt. Unfortunately he didn't have the nerve to write it.

"Yes?" he asked in his casual manner.

"Gordo, why weren't you at the assembly?" Lizzie mumbled. She was worried about her friend, now.

"I was...uh...contemplating quantum Physics." he answered.

"Please, tell me something that Gordo would say." she almost yelled.

"I'm uhh...not feeling well. Don't worry, I'll meet you guys after school, still," he answered.

"Alright," She responded. "Don't forget pictures!"

After another five minutes of fighting his subconscious to let him write what he wanted too, he pulled out a pen, found an empty page in the yearbook, and wrote a poem.

"Your eyes are like pools,

I could drown and not regret.

Your voice is like satin,

Be my safety net...

Your words are so pure,

Something I love.

Your words are the cure,

Like a vibrant white dove.

You are my best friend,

And I hope you know...

I love you, Lizzie McGuire,

I hope you love me too."

He decided to spare the embarrassment, and signed it: "G". When he found her she was talking to Miranda.

"So what did he write in yours, Lizzie?" asked Miranda.

"May the force be with you," she answered. "Is that even from Star Trek? I thought it might be…but it sounds weird."

"No," answered Gordo from nowhere. "It's from Star Wars. However, you were very close. Props to that, Lizzie."

"Thanks Gordo. Are you done with my yearbook?"

"Yep," he answered handing it back.

After the pictures were taken, she confronted him.

"Gordo, I looked all through the yearbook, I didn't see your signature." she whispered.

"It's there. Don't see how you could miss it." He looked at his shoes, as if they would eat him. 'Maybe she's in denial!' he thought.

"Oh...that was you..." she whispered.

"You sound upset," he casually said.

"Shocked. ANd amazed at your honesty, but no, never upset." She leaned over and kissed him, fully. "I HAVE to tell Miranda!" she shrieked and ran off to find Miranda.

"She digs me," he whispered still in shock walking down the hall.

I hope you all liked it. I know you were wondering what he wrote, so here's my take on it. Please read and review, this is my first story in FFNET. Please be kind, I'm new on here, so please!
