Reflection
You named me your hero, your chosen one,
I gave up everything for the world that I lived in.
I got the job done,
I defeated the man that you feared,
Yet in the end, what have I gained?
A day named after me:
Harry Potter Day you call it,
What about the others?
Those who sacrificed their lives for the cause?
They're not important to any of you,
My best friends are just names now to the rest of the world,
The girl that I loved just a memory.
You are all celebrating your freedom,
That which you have not known for so long,
Yet I am sitting here
Wondering what the point of living is.
My mentor, my godfather and my teacher,
All casualties of the war,
All their courage has been forgotten
Because they didn't live to tell the tale.
I cannot stay here,
The wizarding world holds too many memories for me,
Memories that I would rather forget.
I'm Harry to them.
I'm the Boy-Who-Lived and the Man-Who-Defeated,
I'm the face of the front page of The Daily Profit,
And the Saviour.
But what's the point of being all of these,
When nearly everyone you have ever loved
Is either dead or worse?
