"So, the M'arrillians have been poisoning the River Lands?" Prince Mudeenu asked, but Zhade knew it was a rhetorical question.
Mudeenu and Zhade where in the Prince's personal palace, talking about the war the M'arrillians were fighting with the Overworlders. All the Tribes were fighting the M'arrillans, just not together. There has been talk about the Mipedian Royal Council wanting an alliance with the Overworlders, but many still hate the idea of working with their old enemies.
"From what the other spies have been saying it seems that the M'arrillians have been poisoning all the major water sources in Perim. If they keep this up then our warriors will have nothing to drink and will die from dehydration." Zhade said.
"Yes, well maybe we could-"
"Prince Mudeenu." A soldier hurryingly came into the room, cutting off what the Prince was about to say. The soldier bowed then said: "A human was caught trespassing in your weapons room."
"What!" Mudeenu shouted. "This is the third time this week!" If the Prince wasn't cold blooded then Zhade would think that Mudeenu's face would turn more red than Chaor's. "Is it the same boy as the other two times?" Mudeenu asked.
"Yes, your Majesty."
"Where is he now?" Mudeenu demanded to know.
"He escaped us, but we have his scanner, so he must still be in the palace."
Mudeenu turned back to Zhade and said: "Zhade, go find the human and bring him back to me."
"Yes, Sir. Right away." Zhade said, then quickly turned invisible and walked out of the room.
Zhade was always a good spy and soldier for Mudeenu and everyone knew that. Everyone also knows of how loyal Zhade can be, they just don't know that his loyalty is not just reserved for his fellow Mipedians.
He has done this so many times for his friend that Zhade wonders why Mudeenu hasn't figured it out yet. Though maybe he has, but let's Zhade get away with it for some reason.
First he retrieves the scanner, which was way too easy. There wasn't even no one guarding it making Zhade wonder if he should suggest to Mudeenu to up security in the future, but then he pushes that thought away; after all he doesn't want it to be harder if he has to do this again.
Another few minutes and he finds the chubby human hiding (very badly) behind some potted plants.
"Hi." Zhade said from behind Peyton who jumped up in the air.
Turning around, Peyton's fears of being caught went away when he saw who it was.
"Oh, Zhade! Hey, my scaly friend. How's it going?" Peyton asked with that sunshine smile of his.
"I'm doing well, but then I heard a human was inside the palace and I knew it was you." he said, then give Peyton's scanner back to him. "You really shouldn't be here you know. I can get into a lot of trouble if you keep getting caught."
"Sorry about that, buddy." Peyton sheepishly said, rubbing the back of his head. "Thanks for always helping me out. You're a real good friend."
"Don't talk about it. Just transport out of here before someone catches you."
"Right, thanks again, Zhade." Peyton then transported back to Chaotic.
Sighing, Zhade decide to wait an hour before reporting to Mudeenu that the human got away. He hated to lie to his superiors, but his friend's safety was more important to him.
