"Harry…I'm sorry," his voice barely a whisper. "You knew that this was bound to happen sooner or later."

"I –I just didn't know it would be so soon," his forever lover and enemy softly replied, while sorrowful tears were screaming to be let out.

"I love you, you know that right?" was all he could say.

"What's the point?"

He had never heard his lover sound so distressed and this sad before, which broke his heart to hear him continue.

"You've said that to me too many times, and now, the meaning of it feels like nothing to me."

"But Harry…"

"No, Draco!" His sudden harshness in his lover's voice startled him. "But what! There is no point in telling me that you 'love me' when –he choked back a tear –when you are about to leave me for the need of power and blood! And blood on whom? Me, Draco…me…"

This made him mad. "You knew this was my duty. You knew this when we got together! Who did you expect me to be? I will always be a Deatheater. I'm not going to change, Harry! Not for you, not for anyone. This is our fate. All you need to do now is accept it."

His lover slowly nodded his head, took a deep breath and said, full of lament, "I just wish it wouldn't end this way."

He didn't dare look at him. With his wand outstretched on his lover's chest, he didn't even dare to speak because he knew it would be impossible to tell him the depth of his sadness to him.

"Good bye, Draco. I love you too."

And with that, Draco Malfoy murmured the two deadly words, and watched his lover's body fall to the ground. As tears rolled down his face, he bent down to give his Harry one last kiss, affectionate and full of love, but empty and meaningless inside. To end is the end, he thought, as he stood upright again and walked away, never looking back at the body that he swore to never leave…
