I do not own Hetalia! And just like "Thinking" this is based on real events!

On with the story!

The day had started late for Matthew. He had been up working on finding inspiration for a story up until nearly two A.M. and had slept in rather late. He was now in the dining room, the living room with the television on adjacent to the room. The area was open until one entered the hallway that led from the front door into the living room. There was another section of rooms from the hallway.

Alfred and Arthur had been snuggled under a blanket on the couch flipping through channels before deciding to watch last year's recorded videos. Phone calls from work would briefly interrupt the two of them. During one interruption, Alfred had left the movie to tune into the news. The snow and ice had shut down many of the major road ways. Matthew had a feeling that they weren't going to school tomorrow.

"Matthew, could you look up if the University is closed tomorrow?" Arthur shuffled out of the living room.

Alfred came over and helped his brother, who was working deep into a story, pull up the official news website and click on the banner. Matthew saved them a few seconds by clicking on the letter their school would be listed under.

Alfred confirmed that the University was closed, and left the room. Matthew went back to his story. He kept the volume low and listened to some soft rock.

The snow he had woken up to was unheard of in the deep south. The next week looked like it was to be spent indoors. Lost in thought, Matthew paused at what he heard over the music in his head.

"AAAUGH!"

Matthew tore the earphones out and turned to Arthur, who was hurrying to get around the table, on Matthew's other side.

Alfred came into the room, grinning.

"You git! Stay over there!"

"What happened?" Matthew looked to Alfred.

"Well, Arthur was coming by me and I was in the doorway, so I," Alfred stepped forward, opening his arms in a forward motion "went to tell him that the University was closed tomorrow, and he screamed!"

"Of course I would! You're lucky I already went to the water closet, you wanker!"

"Well, I was just in your peripheral as you walked by…"

Matthew started laughing.

"What are you laughing at?" Matthew laughed harder. Once he was done, Matthew turned to Arthur, who had crept around him after snapping at Alfred to text the news to Francis.

"You do realize that if someone came at me like that, I would have screamed and launched myself at them, right?"

Arthur muttered something and went back to watching The Russians are Coming! The Russians are Coming! with Alfred on the couch.

Matthew turned back to his stories, before inspiration struck and he decided to write up what had happened.

Maybe someone else would lurk in a doorway and scare the twit out of their friends.

Okay, what he meant was that maybe someone would get a laugh out of the on goings of domestic life as well.

A/N: This happened when I was part way through chapter 7 of Fish in the Sea.
