And they were in the Guidance office. "Would you like to say something, Ms. Misaki?"

The Guidance Councilor asked. "Yeah, the hit was an accident,"

Her frown turned into a smile,"But i'm glad it happened."

Hidden Creek Middle School. Home of the Mighty Eagles. Located in the bustling city of Metropolis, anyone who attends has to be living in the city itself, traffic isn't a joke for school buses after all.

A young boy hurries to get on the bus, balancing his science textbook and his lunchbox on one hand, a piece of toast on the other. That morning didn't take too kindly to him, and let's be honest here, who ever had a good first day of school morning?

As the bus driver was about to close the doors, someone frantically shouted that someone else was all too close to the bus for that person to be left out. Not wanting to get fired because of parental complaint, the bus driver waited for a few more moments for said student to come on.

The boy smiled, at least something went right today. As he was about to approach the doors however, he was suddenly halted as a girl reached the bus door first. He frowned, about to complain, but stopped himself and gulped when he saw who it was.

Runo Misaki. The eight grade menace. Well...that's what they call her.

"You comin' in, kid?" The bus driver asked. The boy blinked, Runo had already walked inside the bus and probably was already sitting down. "Well?" The bus driver asked again, impatience in his tone. The young boy nodded and ran up the entrance and tried to find a seat. As he found one next to a good friend, he heard the joyful laughter of Julie Makimoto, who he assumes was next to Runo (they were good friends, it wouldn't be too surprising).

He looked down at his toast, still uneaten. Not a lot of people have run-ins with Misaki. They probably wouldn't want to. The girl was shrouded in an endless cloud of rumors, mostly involving a lot of violence and MMA and apparently, even Shun last year was scared of her? (Never been proven though, Shun Kazami was already in high school, so there's no way to reach him now.)

The boy sighed again. Just as he thought his day was finally looking up...

As the bus slowed down to a halt, the boy hurried (he really likes to hurry, such punctuality) to leave the bus, mainly because the classes were about to start, darn bus got caught in traffic – again, but there was a small part there that said it was because Runo was still on the bus, might as well avoid her or what else would happen?

Running up to the main door, the boy looked down to brush crumbs off his shirt and grunted as he bumped into another person. Great. Wait, it's not Runo again, is it? As he regained his composure, he looked up and inwardly sighed with relief.

Daniel Kuso. Class clown, soccer star, the nicest guy around – no kidding.

"You okay kid?" He asked, genuine concern in his voice. The boy quickly nodded. Maybe the day really is starting to look up. Just maybe. Dan broke out into a grin, "That's great! Be more careful next time though, alright?" The boy nodded again, a small smile on his face. "Cool. See ya' somewhere." As Dan walked away, the boy stared at him.

In a strange way, on that day, Runo was his unlucky black cat and Dan was that 'super-awesome-brother-type-figure' that gave you back your luck. A brown-haired, non-irish, leprechaun.

Getting too lost in his thoughts again, he was startled by the bellows of Ms. Thompson, the school's dean. Infamous for her strictness, she was lurking around the halls for anyone who wasn't on their way to their first class.

"YOU ARE GOING TO DETENTION IF YOU DON'T START MOVING!" She roared.

The boy stammered, "Y-yes ma'am!" And proceeded to run to his first class.

Life in Hidden Creek Middle School was always, somewhat, a bit exciting.
