The Patakis: Helga Runs Away

A/N: In one of his many interviews, Craig Bartlett had said that if the spin-off the Patakis had ever been made Arnold would have moved away making Helga the star of the show and in one episode Helga would have run away to see Arnold. So, this is my take on that particular episode.

Disclaimer: I own nothing.

It's just going to be one of those days. Thought Helga.

Helga stared at her front door and for a moment her hand hovered just above the doorknob. Helga knew exactly what awaited her behind that door. Olga was coming home from college today..for good. Olga, who had just recently graduated from college and had said that she had a major surprise for everyone. Helga could only imagine what Olga had in store for them.

As Helga opened the door, her sister Olga instantly wrapped her arms around her in a giant bear hug and planted a kiss on her forehead, which Helga quickly wiped off with her hand, immediately ushered her inside.

"Nice to see you too Olga." Said Helga grimacing.

"Oh, baby sis! I'm so glad you're home. Wait until you hear the news. Now, be a good girl and go into the kitchen with mommy and daddy. I want to be able to tell you all my good news all at once." Said Olga.

"Sure, thing Olga." Said Helga reluctantly.

So, Helga joined her parents at the table and waited for Olga to reveal the surprise.

"Mommy, daddy, baby sister…" began Olga. "I have some wonderful news for you all."

"Well honey, what is it?" Asked her mother Miriam earnestly. "What's the surprise?"

"Mommy, daddy, baby sister…I'm getting married! I'm engaged! Isn't it wonderful?" Said Olga practically beaming.

"Oh, you're engaged! I can't believe it. That's wonderful honey." Said Miriam as she walked over to Olga to give her a hug.

"My little girl is getting married!" Big Bob said practically in tears because he was so happy. "I can't believe it! Come here girl!" Said Big Bob, who too joined is wife in hugging their daughter.

Helga was in shock. She just sat there with her jaw open in mute surprise. Helga couldn't believe her ears. Olga's getting… married? Thought Helga. I must be dreaming.
