Be Long by Mari B. / 362 words / Romance / Jeff W. & Annie E. / Jeff's POV / Spoilers: NONE / G / Disclaimer: Obviously I'm not an evil genius named Dan Harmon.

It won't be long, yeah, till I belong to you.

She kisses your lips in the warm morning searching for your hands to hold, – a cheerful and tender smile of someone who's finally in peace after all the damage life has caused – calming your sleep, watching you breathe, gently placing her fingertips on your forehead. You say she is your guardian angel because you are sure she saves you everyday and night, when the sun rises or sets.

You've never felt this way before.

She's just a child when she smiles, a neurotic teenager when you say 'no' and a great friend to help when Britta is so much drunk and Troy can't convince her to go to bed, but none of these subjects can change the fact that she's a real woman when you touch her – her eyes turning black when she bites her lower lip. She can't be just a child anymore…

And she's a woman when she tells you to stop being such an ass. She's a woman when she realizes that you're actually doing it for her. She's a woman when you hold her in your arms and she quietly confesses she loves you so much. And you confess you love her, too.

You thought you were too old and just a loser to deserve her – too old and just a loser to deserve even her friendship –, but she said none of us are flawless and she taught you about her own fails, too.

Your mother thought you were going crazy, but she was finally convinced when she thought about how beautiful her grandchildren would be. Annie's parents thought she was going crazy too, but they changed their mind as soon as you've become a charming friend of her father.

Now that your friends have finally realized that it's what makes you both truly happy, you don't bother hiding it anymore. You have more important concerns to deal with: you have to look into her blue eyes – they're now reflecting the sunlight that's coming through the window –, you have to kiss her eyelids, you have to kiss her cheekbones, you have to say how much you love her because you know, you just know, in her arms is where you belong.

A/U: Okay, this fic is my very first experience writing in English, I know! Lame! I've probably made some mistakes, but give me a chance, can you? It's a very simple and fluffy ficlet; I think this is the intention, though. The title has this kind of subtlety which would be pointless to explain. Thanks if you read it anyway.
