Reyna and Frank had no idea what to do with the new recruit for Camp Jupiter. It wasn't rare to get new recruits, but it was however rare that these new recruits weren't first trained by Lupa, and had no idea that they were even a demigod.
"How did you get here?" Reyna demanded, her voice cold. At her side her two metal dogs growled at the girl who jumped in her seat and shrunk even more into the seat.
"You're scaring her Reyna," Frank said stepping in front of her and crouching down till he was nearly eye level with the girl. "She's only like, what, ten?"
The little girl nodded her head but still didn't say a word. Reyna sighed but for once listened to her fellow praetor. "Aurum, Argentum heel," she barked and the dogs obeyed, sitting back and shutting up.
"Thank you," Frank said to Reyna before turning back to the girl. "Can you tell me what your name is sweetie?"
The girl looked up at Frank and whispered out something neither Frank nor Reyna could hear.
"What was that?"
"M-my name i-is Lilly," she stuttered out a little louder this time.
"Ah, and can you tell me how you got here Lilly? Who sent you?"
"I-I don't know, I had this dream and I saw the tunnel that led here. Some how I-I knew where it was and that I-I was supposed to come find it."
Frank and Reyna exchanged glances. It wasn't uncommon for demigods to have dreams like this but it was still odd for one to direct her right to Camp Jupiter. Reyna didn't even need to speak for Frank to know what she was thinking. Reyna thought it was a trap; that some monster had sent the girl to Camp for some reason.
"No rash decisions yet, just wait a bit longer before jumping to conclusions Reyna," Frank muttered to her.
"Reyna sighed but turned back to Lilly, "Do you know who your parent is? The godly one that is."
"Godly parent?" The girl seemed confused and Frank and Reyna exchanged another glance.
"Yes, your godly parent," Frank said furrowing his eyebrows. "You are a demigod, the child of a mortal and a god. Didn't you know that?"
She just shook her head, "I don't know either of my parents. I was abandoned as a newborn; my parents left me at an orphanage. I grew up there but I ran away about two months ago."
"Its no matter," Frank said putting an arm around her. "You're here now and I'm sure your mom or dad will claim you soon enough. Welcome to Camp Jupiter Lilly." Frank led her out of the room feeling Reyna's glare aimed at the back of his head.
