Hello everyone! I have returned to do something I've wanted to do for a long time: rewrite Boruto! I absolutely hate the anime (while I enjoyed the manga up until I read Chapter 29) this will be my personal rewrite of the story. The beginning will be the rewrite of THE LAST, where I make my own twist to the story. NaruSaku instead of NaruHina. Otherwise, enjoy my version of how Boruto should play out. (Sasuke's design in THE LAST segment will not be how he originally looks in the movie, it's how he looks at the end of Shippuden with the hairstyle he has in Boruto.)

[Chapter 1: Moon]

A starry night sky held a large full moon, shining down onto Earth with all its glory. The leader of Konohagakure no Sato, Hatake Kakashi, stared up at the moon from the rooftop of his workplace. His exposed eyes above his infamous mask seemed to narrow as he glared up at the night sky. Thoughts seemed to twirl in his mind as he looked up above into the entirety of the obsidian sky. He turned and headed through the stairs that led to his office. Once he reached his office, an ANBU agent was awaiting him in the room.

"Hokage-sama, there's something we need to inform you," the deep voice beneath the cat mask said to the Hokage. Kakashi raised his hand, stopping him from continuing.

"I already know. I'm going to prepare a Five Kage Summit to warn the other villages," Kakashi told him.

That same night was also the Rinne Festival, a winter celebration where people gather to exchange gifts and spend time with their loved ones. The protagonist of the story, Uzumaki Naruto, was having dinner at his favorite diner Ichiraku Ramen with three of his dear friends: Haruno Sakura, Yamanaka Ino, and Sai.

"Naruto-kun!" A group of girls squealed the blonde's name, running up to the nineteen year old. They all carried boxes wrapped with colorful paper and bags with colored paper preventing the gift from being seen. Naruto simply gave them a smile, taking the gifts from the girls and setting them by his stool.

"Thank you, guys." Naruto told the four teenage girls. He gave them a toothy grin, sending the fangirls into even more squeals. An annoyed pinkette looked over at Naruto, who had resumed eating his bowl of ramen.

"Do you not get tired of the constant attention you get on a daily basis?" She asked him. He sucked up the noodles he had hanging out his mouth and swallowed.

"It's sometimes annoying, yeah. But not having the positive attention of people is something I'm not used to considering half my life I was berated by them, so I gotta enjoy it while it's available to me," Naruto told her. Sakura smiled at the humble reply the blonde gave her. As the Haruno turned to her bowl of ramen, a familiar bluette appeared on the pathway towards the ramen stand. In her hands, she held a red scarf. The girl seemed to have a determined look on her face, and her eyes focused only on Naruto.

'She's finally going to try something with Naruto?' Sakura thought. A smile curled on her lips, which drew the attention of Naruto himself. He followed her eyes to the Hyuga standing behind him, grinning at his stalker.

"Hinata! Come! Join us!" He called to her. Bright red splotches formed on her cheeks as she looked up to the blonde. Hinata glanced at Sakura, who gave her a nod of approval. The Hyuga smiled, beginning to walk towards the ramen stand when the group of girls from before grabbed onto Naruto's left arm, tugging at him to join their table.

"Naruto-kun, come eat with us!" One of the girls pleaded him. He simply chuckled at the girls. Hinata frowned, turning and running off towards the Hyuga Compound. Sakura scoffed, getting up.

"Hinata! Wait!" She yelled to her. The pinkette glanced at Naruto, who just noticed the Hyuga had left.

"Why'd she leave? Was she not hungry?" He asked her. Sakura clicked her teeth, lightly punching the blonde in his chest.

"Baka," She yelled at him. She followed in pursuit towards Hinata, bracing herself for the cool wind that suddenly hit her from the cold night. Her breath could be seen from the cold air as she ran, finally catching up with the Hyuga who was sitting on a snowy sidewalk. Hinata was leaning against the wall, wrapping the scarf around her neck. It seemed she didn't realize she had been followed.

"Hinata..." Sakura said softly, sitting down next to her. "You planned to give that to Naruto?" She asked. Hinata nodded.

"Yeah... I knit it myself." She told her. Sakura smiled.

'That's so sweet,' Sakura thought.

"Why'd you give up?" She asked. Hinata softly sighed, rubbing the cloth of the scarf with her thumbs.

"All those girls around him have so much confidence to be there, and I can't even have a conversation with him. Plus, he already had a scarf around his neck." Hinata said. Sakura nodded. She did notice he had a green and white scarf, which is something he didn't commonly wear. Naruto never usually wore scarfs.

"Just keep trying, Hinata. I can tell you love him a lot, and I doubt that he's too stupid to realize it." Sakura told her. Hinata smiled, standing up to regain confidence. She took a breath of fresh air, squeezing the fabric in her hand.

"Okay. Thank you, Sakura." Hinata told her. Sakura stood up as well, smiling at the bluette before walking back to the ramen stand to rejoin her friends.

"Naruto, I just want to t-tell you that... um, I-I like y-you." Hinata softly said. "And I knitted this scarf for you!" She held out the red scarf. In front of her was a metal pole.

'Okay, that's good. I can do this,' Hinata told herself mentally. She turned around to see a dark haired man standing behind her. His hair hung over the left side of his face with a single eye exposed. He had a black cape around his neck with a black track jacket on and black leggings. He simply looked at her.

"Eh?" Sasuke said quietly. Hinata turned a dark crimson before turning to run away. Sasuke blinked, watching her run off before raising two fingers and vanishing in a flicker.

Hinata stopped running and relaxed at a children's playground. She sat on the swing, gripping the metal chains and feeling the coldness overwhelm her hand. She quickly pulled away, wincing from the burn of the cold. She spotted Sasuke appear in front of her, holding up two fingers before lowering them. He sat on the swing next to her.

"You okay?" He asked. She nodded, looking down to the ground.

"It's weird hearing you be nice. You've always been very distant," Hinata told him. Sasuke smiled, looking over at her.

"I'm trying to be nicer. I'm not really good at it, though." He told her. She giggled softly, glancing over at him. "At least I made you laugh. I don't really know how to be funny."

Hinata relaxed from her tense state, slowly swinging back and forth on the swing. "You heard what I said?" She asked. He nodded.

"I don't really get the idea of 'liking' a person. So I don't really understand what you meant by it." He admitted to her. Hinata blinked, smiling a little. It was kinda funny, she's the last person she'd expect to have to explain this type of thing to Sasuke of all people.

"Well, it's a deep feeling that you have for someone. It's like being a friend of someone, but the feeling you feel for them is way stronger. Like a really, really special bond that only you and the other person share." Hinata explained it in the best way she could. Sasuke nodded, looking down at the snow.

"I see." He said, kicking a clump of snow. "That's how you feel for Naruto, then?" The Uchiha asked. Hinata nodded, turning away to look into the distance.

"...Yeah. But I can tell he doesn't feel the same way," Hinata told him. "I've always held out hope he'd have some feelings for me, but everyone can tell he loves Sakura."

Sasuke cough-laughed. "Even I could tell he had something special for her."

"And when it comes to people, thats a subject you have no expertise in." Hinata said, giggling. Sasuke chuckled, looking over at Hinata.

"Yeah, you're ri—" The Rinnegan user was interrupted by the appearance of a floating figure in front of Hinata. The figure had white hair and light blue eyes.

Sasuke stood, sliding in front of the Hyuga. He withdrew his katana and regained fighting stance. The floating man raised an eyebrow.

"Oh? The Uchiha withdrew his sword against me? This is different than I had anticipated. I expected the one with the powers of the Six Paths." The man said. He narrowed his eyes at Sasuke. "Oh! You possess both the power of the Sharingan and the Six Paths. Very interesting." A muffled gasp came from behind Sasuke, where a tall man wearing all black grabbed the bluette. He wrapped his hand around her mouth to muffle her screams. Sasuke quickly turned, leaving his back vulnerable to an attack. The white-haired man formed a green orb in his hand and slammed it into Sasuke's back, sending him flying towards a building. Sasuke regained composure, stabbing his blade into the ground to redirect his movement. The floating man began to fade away, and replacing him was an army of men who all resembled the kidnapper. They each formed a green orb in their hands, launching it at the raven-haired adult. Sasuke jumped, avoiding the attacks. Sasuke slipped the katana into his mouth, clamping down onto the handle with his teeth while his right arm began to glow blue. Lightning formed from his hand, and blackness overtook the blue.

"Onyx Chidori!" Sasuke activated his Rinnegan, switching places with one of the clones while slamming his hand through the multiple clones. He withdrew his katana from his mouth and sliced through the men who charged at him. Using his expertise in taijutsu, he was able to easily overpower the squadron of men that charged at him. Sasuke jumped to the rooftop, spotting the man escaping with the Hyuga in his arms. Sasuke launched his katana at him, cutting deep into the man's bicep. He winced in pain, letting go of Hinata as he jumped to the next rooftop, endangering a deadly fall to Hinata.

"Shit," The man grumbled. He pulled the blade from his arm and threw it, quickly jumping away. Hinata screamed before suddenly feeling a familiar pulling feeling on her whole body. Sasuke jumped down, reaching his sole arm out towards her.

"Universal Pull!" The attractiveness of gravity reversed, pulling the Hyuga towards him. She wrapped her arms around his neck as they jumped to safety, jumping from wall to wall before landing on a rooftop. Sasuke let her down, watching as she let go of his neck.

"T-Thank you, Sasuke-kun." She told him. An army of men surrounded the two of them, causing them to stand back-to-back to each other.

"Don't thank me yet, let's just finish these guys up." He told her. She nodded, activating her Byakugan.

"Gentle Step: Twin Lion Fists!" Two chakra lions appeared on her hands as she charged the men on her side. She used her tenketsu to attack her opponents, knocking them unconscious with each blow. They were sent flying from the power of the Twin Lion Fists, crashing into the walls of nearby buildings.

Sasuke activated his Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan, forming a sword of black flames. "Blaze Release: Kagutsuchi!" He used the sword of flames to cut down the army of men attacking the pair, slicing through them with the eternal flames of Amaterasu. Within seconds, the two shinobi had cut down the men that attacked them. Sasuke's eye deactivated and Hinata deactivated her Byakugan. The man from before appeared in the air floating above the roof.

"Interesting. So my men were unable to capture Hinata Hyuga. No problem. I assure you, I will be back for you." The man said before fading away. Hinata breathed a sigh of relief, turning towards Sasuke.

"Thank you, Sasuke-kun!" She said, wrapping her arms around him for a hug. Sasuke blinked, feeling slightly uncomfortable.

"O-Oh. You're welcome," He told her, tapping her on the back. The hug broke, and Hinata smiled. Sasuke noticed the red scarf on the floor had been ripped up, and bent over to pick it up. He handed it to her.

"Sorry about your scarf," Sasuke told her. She waved it off.

"It's okay. I'll just knit a new one," She assured him. Sasuke nodded.

"Okay. Well, I feel like I should walk you home considering you were nearly kidnapped. Do you want me to do that?" He asked. She tilted her head at him.

"You're being too nice. Who's this imposter Sasuke?!" She joked. They both laughed for a moment before Hinata shook her head. "It's okay, I can take care of myself." Sasuke turned around and raised two fingers.

"Okay, see ya." He said, flickering away. Hinata turned to leave when the image of the man from before stood in front of her. He looked her in the eyes.

"Hyuga Hinata. You're incredibly beautiful, do you know that?" He told her. Almost instantaneously, she activated her Byakugan and her Twin Lion Fists. He raised his hand. "I am not fighting any more. I simply want to talk. My name is Ōtsutsuki Toneri, and I have just taken your younger sister Hanabi to my castle, where I shall take her Byakugan to awaken the Tenseigan. But soon enough, I shall marry you. You, the Byakugan Princess, and recreate the world as it should have been. The way my late ancestor Hamura intended. To rid the world of the corruption that the Sage of Six Paths created." Toneri told her.

"You kidnapped my sister? Give Hanabi back! What the hell is wrong with you? I'll never marry you!" Hinata yelled, slamming a Lion Fist into the image of Toneri, which quickly faded away. She ran towards the Hyuga Compound, sensing danger at her home.

Kakashi stood in front of the screens that showcased the four Kage of each individual village. This was an emergency make-shift Five Kage Summit, where they discussed the problem at hand.

"Hokage, you say the world is in danger?" The Kazekage, Gaara, asked. Kakashi nodded. Ohnoki, the Tsuchikage nodded as well.

"I've felt an odd presence from the sky recently, and it all makes sense now," Ohnoki told them.

"I believe the moon is coming towards Earth, to be precise." Kakashi told them. A, the Raikage, laughed.

"You think the moon is falling? How absurd!" He burst into tears from his laughter. Kakashi grunted.

"The moon has become larger and larger within the last few days. There is enough evidence there," Kakashi told A, who fell silent. "Besides, when I have a hunch, it's usually right."

Mei, the Mizukage, finally spoke. "Hokage, how long until the Moon reaches Earth?" She asked. Ohnoki shook his head.

"It won't necessarily reach Earth. The gravitational pull between the Moon and the Earth will cause the Moon to crack and send massive meteors towards Earth. That's going to be the end of the world."

The call went quiet, as each of the Kage became extremely serious.

"We should enter a village-wide lockdown, no one leaves or enters the village," Kakashi told them. Each of the Kage nodded.

The discussion went on for a short-while later before they each hung up and began preparing for the 'Doomsday.' That's when an ANBU agent appeared in the office.

"Hokage-sama, I have bad news. It seeks as though Hyuga Hanabi has been kidnapped by an unknown enemy," The ANBU agent told Kakashi. The silver-haired Kage leaned back in his chair, folding his hands together.

"I will assemble a team to rescue Hanabi," He told him. "We will get her back."
