Diary

By SMYGO4EVA

Toya walked up to his room and he flopped onto his bed, putting his backpack onto the floor in the process. Who knew that an 8-hour day of school could be so exhausting? It was like work for teenagers, except you don't get paid. Well, maybe they should. Then again, there were after school jobs for those who want to get paid and he had plenty of those.

It wasn't that exhausting, but it felt like it was: mentally and physically. You walk around, see your friends, get glomped by certain girls (preferably Nakuru), and bask in new information of the subjects you learn for the future. Toya never really thought of himself as smart, but Yukito thought so.

Then again, he was his best friend, but he genuinely meant it when he said it. He was his friend, and they kept secrets, compared themselves to others, and they like/dislike the same subject. In a way, Yukito was a genuine friend, the very epitome of a companion. He always had that smile on his smile, the warm smile that would brighten someone's day, and he would offer solace to another in need.

Toya moved his arm, but his hand felt something. It was smooth and of paper material. He sat up and saw a letter right on his pillow. Curious, he took the letter in his hand and proceeded to open it, unfurling the tempting piece of writing.

Toya,

Lay your head on my pillow
Here you can be yourself
No one has to know what you are feeling
No one but me and you

I won't tell your secrets
Your secrets are safe with me
I will keep your secrets
Just think of me as the pages in your diary

I feel such a connection
Even when you're far away
If there is anything that you fear
Call 489 4608 and I'll be here

I won't tell your secrets
Your secrets are safe with me
I will keep your secrets
Just think of me as the pages in your diary

Only we know what is talked about
I don't know how you could be driving me so crazy
When you're in town
Why don't you come around?
I'll be the loyalty you need
You can trust me

Yukito

Brown eyes increased and doubled in size. He was shocked, no, beyond shocked that Yukito would write this to him. It was so sweet and the essence of loyalty was evident. He was promising him that he would forevermore keep his secrets and never betray his trust. The words were so lyrical and poetic, like a love poem.

It was a love poem.

"Toya?"

Upon his name being called, Toya look up and saw him. Yukito was in the doorway and he adorned the smile he always had, but it was different. It was of love, trust and the friendship that created what he felt towards young Toya. The illusion of the young and tormented Tsukishiro had vanished, and there was only Yukito, once in the chimera of doubt and now the true form of affection he had become.

"I like you, Toya. I really do." He simply said, his eyes shrouded in respect and mystery at once, his feelings anew and free from clandestine thoughts.

Toya blinked and a smile spread across his face. "I like you too, Yukito."
