"Honey. Its time to go. We've been with them long enough." Trisha Elric-my wife- sighed happily.
"Just a few more moments. Look at them." I cry. Trisha grins and leans on my shoulder.
"Aren't you proud? Ed finally married Winry and they have three beautiful children. Al has two children too." She gleefully cheered.
"Its only a shame that we didn't get to be there to meet them." I sigh.
"It's ok to cry, you know." Trisha sighs. "You're not leaving them completely this time." I stare at Ed spinning his youngest daughter around. Winry was next to him, along with her son. Al was holding hands with his two girls laughing. Ed's eldest was transmuting items into decorations.
"I wish I was a better father to them." I mutter.
"You were perfect. If you weren't the way you were they wouldn't be the way they are now." Trisha smiles. Its amazing to see her so bubbly after so many years. I watch as Ed's oldest daughter try and hang decorations as Al's second daughter try to help.
"Its our Alphonse's wife's birthday." Trisha whispered in my ear. I nod. I wish those boys knew how much I cared for them.
"Happy birthday!" They all cried when Alphonse's wife entered the house. You heard her shriek in surprise. I smile seeing Winry shuffle everyone outside to take a group picture.
"Ally-Mae, Edwin and Nina stand by your father and I. Luanna and Lukka, stand by your parents." Winry yells. They shove everyone in place. Trisha and I laugh as Edwin throws a wrench at his sister after the picture is taken. Ed and Al walk off to the side while everyone is playing around.
"I wish Mom and Dad were here." Al says. Trisha's breath quickens as she leans forward.
"It's been years, Al." Ed sighed.
"I know, but I still wish they had gotten to meet their grandkids." Al smiled. Ed smirks and mutters, "I wish so too."
"You do?"
"Yeah. I wish we had gotten to tell Mom and Dad that we loved them one last time." Ed grinned.
"Edo-kun!" Trisha cried. Her brown eyes were sparkling with tears. I felt that damn water pool in my eyes too.
"I wish we did too brother." Al replied. He went to walk away.
"Hey Al." Ed cries. Al turns.
"For some reason…I feel like they never left." Ed sighs.
"We never did Ed. We never did." I speak softly.
"Darling, its time to go." Trisha sighed, wiping her eyes. I walk forward and hug Ed and Al. They didn't feel it though. I knew that. Trisha grabbed my hand and we walked slowly into a bright light. The last things we heard were Ed's kids, yelling "Daddy, what's wrong?"
Before we were completely consumed I heard Ed confusedly say, "I thought I heard Dad say I love you."
