What Could Have Been
Summary: Arriving in the Afterlife, Ramses is more than angry, but rather enrage and full of jealousy spotting Moses walking in hand with another and couple children playing around them. That should be him with Moses not that stranger. What could have been the life he could have had if he hadn't messed things up.
Pain racking through Ramses's elderly body the once Pharaoh remains cold hearted to this very day after the slaves leaving. It been rough losing his eldest son and heir but manage to sire several more sons and daughters to continue his legacy. A harsh cough pass his throat and the corner of his eyes seem to become darker. So his death is almost here. Finally after so long. Maybe he would see Moses and maybe admit the feelings that been brotherly have change. With one last breath the once great Pharaoh Ramses passes on to the afterlife.
Wakening up and feeling refresh, Ramses finds himself in Egypt where many people are walking and talking around him. To his very surprise of the sight of his parents looking young and at peace warms his harden heart. He looks at himself finding he's a young man again. Is he dead?
"Hello son," Seti greets with a warm smile and eyes filled with joy and sadness.
"Father," Ramses murmurs staring wide eye. "Where's Moses?"
Tuya and Seti share a look knowing what have happen after Moses run off from the palace and the events leading to the slaves being free. There been some things that they were proud and angry with their eldest son individually.
"He's around," Tuya replies briskly giving a look to her husband who nods.
"Ramses Moses is over there," Seti replies pointing in a distance where Moses walks hand in hand with a taller man smiling down lovingly at him as a group of children with their features run around calling out papa and daddy.
The feeling of his heart breaks at the sight. Jealousy and enraged anger bubbles in his heart at the sight. Moses is his. Not that damn man who is with him. Those children should have been his. A small part speaks up that if he didn't screw up and been an ass to Moses that would be him right there instead.
Moses with a smile looks only for it to stiffen seeing Ramses there. He waves to his adopted parents while his husband sees him going tense hugs him while whispering reassuring words.
"Ramses," Moses said eyes showing the hurt from the man he considers his brother and at a time crush but eventually moved on to love his husband here at Heaven and his children.
"Moses." Ramses chokes over the sudden lump in his throat while watching the loving family leave and his heart continues to ache.
