Disclaimer: I don't own Lily, James, the Marauders, or Howarts - nor Petunia, or anything to do to Harry´s World.

Lily waited patiently on her favourite armchair. After a long moment, she sighed as her eyes lingered over the rest of the Common Room. It was Christmas, and so the room was unusually deserted. Her thoughts shifted to the day she had returned the castle; her gaze now turning to the ground. Petunia had been so angry… thus as why she had stayed for the first time at the castle.

'It hadn't been so bad after all,' Lily thought excitedly. Her friends had begged their parents to stay when they had learned she wasn't going home. A small smile crossed her features. Yes, it had been such a memorable time…

But then, the smile turned into a frown, and her head lifted slowly, her slightly pained eyes lingering again the empty Common Room. She was seriously thinking this had been a bad idea. He was just an arrogant git, as she always thought he was. She looked again at the floor, her hair falling over a part of her face. She knew that it had been wrong, telling James Potter 'yes'; but she couldn't help herself. Sure, she had hated him for six years, and sure, he had been the main reason that Severus and she had stopped being friends. But he had changed –

'Stop,' she told herself angrily as she wiped a tear that had fallen from her brilliant green eyes. 'Thinking about him will not help you. He stood you up – on Christmas.'

She sighed once again and got up, slowly walking a few steps towards the girl's dormitory to grab a thicker robe and a pair of gloves (maybe she could join her friends on the school grounds), when the Fat Lady's Portrait opened, allowing inside the person Lily had not wanted to meet at the time: James Potter.

When she saw him, Lily froze. She felt like it all was in slow motion. She saw Him, with his friends, laughing - careless - and she felt her temper raising, and she was sure that her face looked as red as her hair, the same that was now falling over her face. She angrily made her way towards him.

"Potter!" she exclaimed, in a half whisper- half shout. He stopped laughing, his handsome face turning into a terrified gaze.

"Um, hi, Lily-"

Lily placed her hands on her hips, like she did when she got bored. "Don´t you dare 'Lily' me, James Potter!"

James lifted his hands, as a sign of peace. "What have I done?" he half exclaimed.

Lily crossed her arms over her chest, hopeful that at least he had just forgotten (something she could understand).

"Oh, you know," she said, rolling her eyes, now more calm. "Our date?"

James´s jaw fell. "You mean, you really meant it when you said yes? Its not a joke, is it?"

Lily shifted her feet, feeling guilty. After all, she had been the one to reject him. "Yes its not a joke. I - I really want to go out with you."

Behind James, the marauders stared in shock, apparently, they all had thought she had been joking - even Remus.

James cleared his throat nervously, and Lily´s emerald eyes posed on him. "Er - if you want, I can take you for dinner?"

Lily smiled, secretly thinking how cute he looked when he was nervous, and appreciating the fact that he was trying to please her so hard.

"Okay, sounds great," she said softly, while she checked her scarf to see if it covered her neck completely; and made her way to the portrait. "Pick me here at seven!" she exclaimed before leaving, four pair of eyes looking at her in shock.

As she made her way to the grounds, she laughed; thinking that for once, the world would be alright.
