Lenne's Last Memory.
I close my eyes gently and allow the moment to sink in.
We're going to die.
A million thoughts run through my mind before my heavy lids peel themselves open.
All of them are of you.
I think of all the times we spent together,
How we used to laugh and carry on about nothing.
Remember when we first met?
I do.
We were rivals remember?
Shuyin you used to play pranks on me at school just to see me get mad…
You always said I was pretty when I was angry.
Remember our first date?
Heh, we were walking along the beach…I almost touched your hand.
Almost held it…but I was too shy.
Remember our first kiss.
You were so nervous you nearly missed my mouth.
Got more of my chin than anything.
Why did things end this way, we were supposed to grow old together!
My eyes slowly open and the tears, full of our memories, slide down my cheeks.
I smile as I look up into your big, sad eyes.
I love you.
I'll never be mad at you for this.
You were only trying to protect me, and I'm truly grateful for that.
You have not failed me, so don't look at me with those grieving eyes.
I want our last moments together to be happy, no sad tears…these should be tears of joy
I get to sleep for eternity with you…why do you feel like you've failed me.
You haven't.
I wish I could tell you the answers to the questions in your eyes
But there isn't enough time.
We hear the guns cock, and glance at them just before they shoot.
We fall…You die instantly.
Funny, you look like your sleeping…are you waiting for me behind those closed eyes?
You look so peaceful.
My hand reaches out to you as a tear falls down my face.
I can barely feel it…
The pain in my body slowly fades as my vision darkens.
I know you'll be waiting for me when I close my eyes.
You'll be there, and we'll walk hand in hand once again.
We shall rest together on the farplane.
