AN: Why Hullo there! This is not my usual kind of story, but it's a gift for my sister's birthday. She has recently become obsessed with the character of Zuko so I thought I'd write a little one-shot in which she is his lover. His take on her and their relationship. I have no beta so all mistakes are my own! I apologize in advance for any mistakes I overlooked!

Pairing: Zuko/OC

Warnings: None really... Fluff. Also prepare to drown in cheesiness!

Disclaimer: I do not own Avatar the Last Airbender or it's characters nor do I make a profit from this story! Only did this for fun. If I did own it there would defiantly be more than three books.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY EME!

"Zuko." His name never sounded as lovely as it did when the word flowed from her lips. It was a caress that seemed as physical as her hand on his. "Zuko." Again his sleeping lover whispered his name and he marveled at the chills her voice sent down his spine. He watched her for awhile; studying her in the pale moonlight.

By now he had grown accustom to being awoken by his love talking in her sleep, but he knew he would never get used to the loving tone in which she spoke his name. Or the peace in her face as she dreamed of him. How a damaged, angry, bitter man like him had a love like her, he'll never know. He had no idea what he had done to deserve her.

Her red-brown hair seemed to shine as it framed her face. Her pale skin that rivaled his glowed in an almost fashion. Her pink lips that always had a sarcastic remark behind them were pulled up slightly in a smile. She was beautiful, only a fool wouldn't see that, and Zuko was no fool. She doubted her loveliness, but Zuko made it his goal to prove to her just how beautiful she truly was. He knew it would take time, but with every kiss, every kind word she grew in confidence.

She was perfect, not just in beauty, but in personality also. They would fight in explosive arguments; both to stubborn to admit they were wrong. She challenged him constantly. From the first day he met her she never once was afraid to tell him just how stupid she found one of his ideas. She was rash, like him, on occasion, but she could also show a surprising amount of foresight and thoughtfulness. On the outside she could seem abrasive and rude, but once her walls were down Zuko was surprised at how much kindness and compassion she held within her. Both of them had scars and painful past of which they only spoke of in the darkness of their room. Zuko was always shocked at just how well he could understand her and she him. Before they became lovers a deep bond was forged between them as they both learned to open up to the other.

As sleep began to reclaim Zuko he smiled once again at his good fortune in having someone to love like her. He pulled her close to him; her intoxicating sent filling his nose and relaxing him immediately. He soon joined his lover in the land of dreams.
