This is a new idea I got that wouldn't leave me alone. I couldn't write my speech on Jacob Riis because it always ended up as Hetalia. I finally got it all writen down so hopefully I can get real work down.

Reviews are always appreciated. This is just an introduction chapter. Think of it as an author's note at the beginning of a book.

Dear Coleagues,

Having compiled all my great works together, I have decided to devote my time to studying the history of the great nations of this earth. They too evolve like the animals to fit the changing times.

In my studies, I have come across various mentions of the countries being humanized and I decided to follow this to hope it leads to further discovery. Not only did I discover the truth behind this matter, but I discovered that many have animal companions.

Being quite fond of animals, I took it upon myself to compile all I could about these creatures who had lived for centuries. Through research, I fond that they weren't unlike the mortals of their species.

Their DNA was identical, letting me assume that they had once been mortal animals. But then having been exposed to immortals, they changed into the creatures they are now.

There seemed to be nothing special about their genetic makeup, but how they had come to live forever proved a good point of study. There is so much that could be learned.

It took much effort to unearth the true stories. Most of the humanized countries neither wished to share the stories nor remembered, so it took some cajoling on my part.

I was rewarded in my hard work because I have compiled stories that seem like fiction, but are entirely true. If one person were to believe my work, I will consider everything a success.

Ranging from huge mammals to birds of prey to small invertebrates, the creatures vary as much as the countries who own them. The stories range as much as the animals and the lands.

If you happen to be reading this now, know this is no fictional story. Where ever you live, and immortal human is watching over you with there beloved animal in their shadow.

I beg of you to not spread the secret of gaining immorality if I do discover it as is my goal. Such a secret could be dangerous if I manage to unbury it.

With sincerest regards, I hope you take this collection of stories as what it truly is and embark on your own truthful journey,

Charles Darwin

Let me know what you think in a review. I actually know very little about Charles Darwin except he wrote a book called the Origin of Species about evolution. He, for some reason, seemed like the prefect person to compile these stories.

Canada and Kumajirou are the first paired followed by Prussia and Gilbird. Italy has the best pet ever - can't wait to write his chapter.

This is the third story on my agenda (after Toms Vs She-Cats and The Guardian)

If you have ideas, feel free to share them with me.
