Dear Michael
Hi Michael. My name is Hannah, I'm 27 years old and my home town is in Chattanooga Tennessee. I thought I would get that introduction out of the way and get what I wanted to say started.
My very first memories of you were from Free Willie, I remember seeing the video for will you be there at a very young age when I was three. I also remember you or someone that thought they were you in a mental asylum in Springfield teaching Homer Simpson how to Moonwalk.
When questioning what exactly the moonwalk was Homer said, "How do you do that thing with your feet?"
In which "you" answered" The moon walk?"
Then Homer repeats himself once more, "No! That thing with your feet!"
And for the rest of my childhood I never knew who Michael Jackson was until I was a teenager. At the time it was the cool thing to make fun of and crack jokes about you around the time of you second allegation, I myself am guilty of this and now that I look back and have really gotten to know you and who you were as a person I feel terrible. But knowing you and if we were sitting together I know you would tell me that it's ok and not to beat myself up over it.
Also I would like to say this.
Saying sorry just doesn't cover knowing what you went through in your life.
Starting from your childhood and on up when you became a adult and were constantly stalked by paparazzi having ridiculous and cruel media coverage all over the news and the papers, magazines and internet.
Michael, you did not do anything in your life to deserve any of this but like I said at the very start of this paragraph sorry just does not cover it. I never knew you personally but I wish I had been your friend during your time on earth not just because you were and still are a massive star but because of whom you really were as just you yourself.
Just a man that had tremendous talent and a heart that was pure gold and a gift from God that reached out and inspired people too. But despite everything you went through, you didn't let it stop you from helping others and you did that too the very end and inspired people to the very end too, as you said in Man In the Mirror:
"If you wanna make the world a better place take a look at yourself and make a change."
Those words have inspired many people including myself to do just that too which I will say thank you.
You also said this, "Don't pass judgment on someone until you have sat down face to face with them and talked to them one on one."
I struggle with that but I will always keep that in mind before I sit down with someone and get to know them, but I know I'm not the only one because its only human nature to do so but humans in their nature can be very cruel.
(that wasn't on purpose by the way)
I know you miss your babies and I know your babies miss you horribly. Again, saying sorry will not cover it but I'm sorry you had to be taken away from them so suddenly.
But I think God needed you more than we did as much as that hurts me to say.
We the fans miss you, but Paris, Prince and Blanket miss you more than we ever could. But you have never left them and you are and will be with them for all the days of their lives until God calls them home and you all will be together again once more.
You raised and loved those children with all the fiber of your being and I know you are beyond proud of whom they have grown to be.
And they are very proud to call you their father and I know they love you just as much as you loved them.
In closing Michael I just want to say this: I hope you are finally at peace from all whatever demons followed you throughout your life.
Rest easy my friend you deserve it.
Much love from Hannah
