Terra and Aqua are standing face to face on the Summit in the Land of Departure. Aqua is frustrated that Terra always wants to become stronger. She finally decides to speak her mind and ask him why strength is so important to him.

"Why are you always obsessed with power?" Aqua asked as she stared into Terra's eyes.

"Strength enables me to protect the people I care about," Terra replied.

"But power only leads to darkness. You'll want more and more of it, and eventually you won't be able to control yourself. You'll go astray and leave behind everything and everyone you love!"

Terra just looked at her eyes and smiled.

"There is nothing more that I want than to be with the ones I love. Ventus, Master Eraqus, and…you."

He walks to her and gently places a hand on her face. Aqua looks down and starts to cry. She places a hand on Terra's hand.

"Please, we can't. It's too embarrassing."

"Aqua, you are my best friend, and I wouldn't know what to do with myself if someone hurt you."

Aqua continues to cry. She looks up at Terra's face and into his eyes.

"But what is it about strength that always interests you? You want to be a Keyblade Master, right? Strength alone won't make you one."

"I know that, Aqua. You, me, and Ventus all share the same dream."

Terra places a second hand on Aqua's face. Tears continue to fall on her cheeks.

"I don't want to lose you, Terra. You're the most important person to me. I don't want anything to happen to you."

He moves closer to her. Her face starts to turn red.

"Nothing will happen to me."

"How do you know?"

"It's because of you."

He leans in for a kiss. Aqua widens her eyes for a short moment, but she closes her eyes and kisses him back. They pull away and look closely into each other's eyes again.

"It's because of me…that you want to become stronger? To be a Keyblade Master? You're doing it all for me?

Terra nods.

"You don't need to do this for me. I am able to hold my own."

"There are times when you can't, Aqua. And during those times, during all times, I want to be there for you. To protect you when you need protection, and to support you when you need it. When we first met on this world, I instantly fell in love with you. I can't go a day without thinking about you. I want to be with you. I love you, Aqua."

"I love you too, Terra."

Terra and Aqua close their eyes and kiss again.
