His final moments
The werewolf David loped through the city streets of London snapping at whomever was foolish enough to get in his path. He had already killed scores of people inside the movie theatre along with the inspector that had foolishly barged in and interrupted his meal. That was a moment ago. What everyone didn't know is that David wanted to die. He had not intended to kill nor did he want to. It was his beastial nature. He continued to run snapping and snarling at the people in his path. Although he could very easily take one or two down as he continued on he ignored them. He ran into an ally way hoping that the scores of police would follow before he felt the hunger and rage rise again forcing him to kill.
Alex was sleeping on the couch when her colleague and friend shook her awake. Something about a "mad dog" running about and it had already taken dozens of people in the theatre and caused a few fatalities whilst running around. 'David.' Alex thought. She had to help him. Had to get through to him somehow that the police would help him if given the chance. But would he listen and understand. Could he? She had to try. Quickly she grabbed her things and went out for him. She heared his snarling howl and knew he was close.
She pushed her way through the barricade and walked down the dark ally way. The police had their guns drawn at the ready. If they went with her the werewolf would take it as a challenge and may attack. Alex saw David bristling at the back snout pulled back showing rows of bloodied teeth. She came within 5 feet of the werewolf and even though she heard his rumbling growl the werewolf did not attack. He stood there bristling and staring at her. "David…there going to kill you…" she choked. "Please let me help you." she begged her eyes filled with sadness.
The werewolf's snarl softened slightly and he lowered his eyes for a brief minute. 'Nothing can help me Alex. Im sorry. I never wanted to hurt anyone.' The werewolf thought sadly. David knew there was only one solution. He had made his decision when Alex first spoke to him. He looked up at her and his growling began to rise. Alex looked at him tearfully. "David I love you." she pleaded hoping he'd understand. She reached out tenderly to the werewolf and David pushed his snout to touch her fingertips gently before pulling back.
The werewolf's eyes softened for a brief second before he growled and lunged forward. He did this not to hurt her but to provoke the police into killing him. Shots were fired and David went down. When she looked at the werewolf tearfully she saw there was no malice in the werewolf's eyes as he slowly changed back. His dying eyes were grateful that they had ended his bloody spree. Alex stood there numbed by grief and curious as to why the werewolf did not attack. Did he actually understand her and what she said. It didn't matter. The werewolf was dead and the terror had ended.
9 Months later
The little girl ran outside her grandfather's large yard while her mother and grandfather spoke. They had hoped the little girl would not inherit her father's werewolf genes she would grow up to be a normal woman. She knew her daddy was in heaven although her mother had not told her the truth completely. She had told her that an animal had gotten loose at the zoo and made daddy go to heaven but they got the animal and put him away before he could hurt anyone. To tell her that her daddy was a werewolf and he killed scores of people before being shot to death? That's something you just don't tell your child.
