Disclaimer: I hold no rights to America or Mexico, both of whom belong to Hidekaz. I do, however, claim hold of this particular characterization of the State of Arizona. Texas and New Mexico are based loosely off of the states.

Desert Storms

The dust that swirls through the wind frightens little Arizona.

At only a few years old, she imagines herself to hear the poor defenseless leaves call out in pain to her as they are torn from the branches.

Her wide hazel eyes take in the sky along the horizon that is black with clouds that seem menacing and angry.

Being the youngest state and therefore the one least worthy of attention means that all she can do is cringe at the roar of Mother Nature at the shivering windows.

Hermano Texas says that the storms never last long—now all little Arizona does now is wait for Tío América to come back and wish to be safe with Papá México.

Soon the rage will dissipate between the countries and the turquoise sky will come through in the end.

After all, New Mexico and Texas say it will be better, so Arizona is brave and plays with her Kachina doll until she knows where she belongs.

A/N: I wrote this tiny piece for school, but decided to alter it to fit into the Hetalia-verse. Hopefully I'll find the motivation to pluck out some more of these little vignettes about Arizona, but I'm not quite sure. There are so many paths to take with her... Anyway; read, review, and enjoy!
