She pressed her grayish pale face was against her soft, pastel pink one. The powerful taste of peppermint filled Marcy's mouth, and the smell of Bonnibel's butterscotch scenting hair drifted up Marcy's nose. Their hands entwined as if they were one. Marceline brought them against the wall, before the Princess pulled away, shoving Marcy away with all her strength "I just can't do this anymore, Marcy..." she whispered, regret growing in her eyes. "Please, just go." She turned away, her head in her hands. Marcy took one look back before transforming into a bat, flying out of her window for what she thought would be the last time. She soared through the dark forest, slowing transforming back into her usal form, her vinyl shirt ripping on the branches, ice-cold tears running down her face. She set herself down in an empty field, with violet flowers blossoming in the darkness of night. She lay down on on the grass, imagining being there with Bonny, holding her warm, soft hands, admiring the stars above them. She imagined holding Bonnibel in her arms. And she regretted ever letting her go.
Days hurried on, but Marcy never did. Curled up in her room, Marcy cried and muttered to herself. Finn tried to visit her, but Marceline just snarled and turned her back to him. It was months before Marceline left her curled up position to leave her room. She flew over the Land of Ooo and placed herself in a tree near the Candy Kindom's castle. She saw Bubblegum look out the castle doors as if waiting for someone. If only Bonnibel knew that Marcy was waiting on her month after month to come back to her. If only Bonny felt the same way Marcy did. If only, if only. Marcy whisered, almost silently, "Come back, Bonnibel".
