Reed smiled as he drew the finishing touches on his black sunset. He's always loved the feeling of complete relaxation he gets when he picks up a pencil or paintbrush. He sighed happily. As he got off the stool, his foot caught the leg, causing him to fall into a pile of paint covered newspaper. "Not again!" The painter groaned, peeling the paper off his face. To make matters worse, the one and only Shane Anderson chose this moment to say hello to his danger-prone boyfriend.
"Hey Reed, I-"Shane stopped in his tracks as he saw Reed covered in green paint. The artist stared at him, waiting for a reaction. Shane smiled kindly. "You okay?"He asked, walking over to carefully help Reed up. Reed nodded, blushing under the paint. Shane sat him down on his bed and went to get a washcloth. Reed sighed, inspecting his sheets, colorful from many other similar incidents. Shane came over and sat in front of him. "So, what happened?"He asked, lightly dabbing at Reed's cheeks. The boy shrugged.
"I tripped on a stool leg into paint covered newspaper."He mumbled. Shane smirked slightly. Reed smiled sweetly."So, what brings you here? I wasn't expecting you."He commented. Shane blushed.
"I, um, I made you something."He stuttered. Reed stared in surprise as his boyfriend continued to clean his face.
"Wat'd ya make me?! Wat'd ya make me!?" Reed demanded childishly, bouncing on the bed. Shane laughed.
"Hold on! If I mess up your skin Kurt will kill me."He stated, kissing Reed's nose. The artist pouted slightly, but waited. Soon, the paint was gone and Reed was in his designer pajamas. "Have I ever told you how much I love your hair?" Shane giggled, wrapping a finger into a strawberry blond curl and watching it bounce back into place. Reed smiled as he plopped onto the couch.
"Sooooooo…"He drawled. Shane rolled his eyes.
"Close your eyes."He urged, heading to his bag. After retrieving the gift, he sat next to Reed. "Kay, open."Reed opened his eyes to see a heart-shaped piece of hardened clay. "Turn it over." Shane whispered, analyzing the painter's face. Reed turned it over to read an engraving. 'Reed- You are amazing. I love you.' It was simple, but it was perfect. "I know it's not that great, but-" Shane was cut off by Reed's mouth on his.
"I love it. It's perfect. YOU'RE perfect."Reed stated breathlessly as they parted. Shane grinned wider.
"I love you."He said happily, kissing him again.
"Kurt's gonna be back at any moment." Reed sighed. Shane pouted adorably.
"But I don't wanna goooooo."He snuggled into Reed's chest. Reed giggled.
"Hey, stay if you want, but I will not be held responsible for your disappearance."Reed smirked. His boyfriend scoffed.
"Alright, I'll see you later."He stated, kissing Reed's cheek and walking to the door. The painter blew him a kiss before admiring his gift again. Kurt walked in a few moments later.
"Hey Reed, what's up?" Kurt asked. Reed gingerly handed him the object. Kurt smiled softly as he inspected it. "He did all this? He must luv you!" He smirked, handing it back. Reed nodded.
"I feel exactly the same way." He replied.
