For Hogwarts assignment 5, Career Advice task 1: Write about an individual that gets injured on his/her job.

Draco leans against the door of the the Medical Wing. He'd Apparated there as soon as he received a patronus from Charlie's coworker, informing him that Charlie was in the Medical Wing with a hurt dragon. From this position, he can see Charlie sitting next to a dragon. There are burns up and down both of his forearms, but he doesn't seem to notice them.

The redhead gives no indication he noticed Draco as he runs a his hands across the blackish purple scales of the dragon that's curled up in the middle of the room.

Draco loathes to break the silence, but he needs to know the other man is alright. "What happened?"

Charlie looks up from the dragon, grimacing. "Three dragons got a little territorial. I'm fine, just got burned. Kleio will never fly again, though."

He really looks at the Hungarian Horntail. Kleio's entire right wing is bandaged and his right forefoot is as well. There are gashes along the rest of his body.

"It's not your fault," he says.

"I should've been paying closer attention when they decided to introduce him into the adult pen," Charlie replies, returning his attention back to the dragon.

Draco comes to sit next to Charlie. Kleio doesn't lift his head as he does this, which he assumes to be the medicine. Kleio doesn't even blink up at Draco, like other dragons would. He wonders briefly if they had sedated Kleio. It would surely make it easier to care for him.

"You couldn't have predicted this," Draco argues.

"Kleio's been aggressive since he was a baby," Charlie whispers, keeping his hand against Kleio's blackish purple scales. "I told them he wouldn't do well among other dragons and they ignored me. And this is what happened."

Draco puts a hand over Charlie's. "Come on, let's get home. There's nothing more you can do for him like this."

Draco briefly considers taking the redhead to the Infirmary; Salazar knows he'd never go otherwise, but Draco's confident in his ability to take care of the burns himself. He pulls Charlie up and away from the dragon. Once the redhead's away from the dragon, it becomes easier to urge Charlie to walk. The walk home is slow and quiet.

Charlie doesn't protest when Draco pushes him towards the couch. He only groans as Draco pulls out his wand and whispers, "Aguamenti."

Water rushes out of his wand, cleaning Charlie's burns. Then he summons the burn paste and gauze. He spreads the paste over the burns then covers it with gauze as carefully as he can.

Charlie doesn't move when Draco goes to put away the supplies. He's still sitting there, staring at the wall, when Draco comes back.

He's never been one for comfort, so he does the only thing he can think of. He makes a cup of coffee for Charlie and places Charlie's cup in front of him. Then he starts on a potion he noticed they are running low on.

Charlie will come to him when he's ready to talk more about Kleio. He just has to be patient.
