A/N
This is based on the poem The Owl and the Pussycat by Edward Lear, one of the first poems I ever read. Or technically read to me, as I was three at the time. Still, even fifteen years later, I can still remember it and decided to use it as the basis for something of my own. Something set in the context of Sonic Rush Adventure to be precise, though takes a bit of referance from other Sonic 'verses.
Eye for an Eye
The hedgehog and pussy-cat went to sea,
Accompanied by a fox and raccoon in a boat.
The boat was fine crafted, built by the fox,
But it was unknown how it kept afloat.
...
The hedgehog looked up to the sky above,
And sang on his electric guitar.
How he was the fastest thing alive,
Able to run at the speed of the stars.
...
The cat splashed the hedgehog and denied him a towel,
"How boastful you are when you sing!
Fast as the speed of light perhaps,
But only with power rings."
...
They sailed away but the hedgehog fumed,
How dare the cat do this to him?
He got up on the stubble, his revenge was not subtle,
He forced the pussy to swim.
...
The pussy landed on a sand embankment,
And therefore did not look too shrill.
In fact she looked somewhat satisfied,
As if on the proverbial hill.
...
"Oh hedgehog," she said, "something's wrong with your head,
"Your vengeance has been done too soon!"
For holding up what was on the embankment, once buried,
Was a chest of one-hundred doubloons!
...
The hedgehog and pussy-cat returned to sea,
The pussy-cat displaying her boon.
The hedgehog knew when he had been beat,
So he took it out on the raccoon.
