THE " LAST " BREATH
I woke from my sleep hearing an ear- piercing scream . The voice sounded so familiar yet so distant . I wanted to go and comfort the person but something , no someone was holding me back. It was preventing me from helping the voice. This thing was so powerful that I couldn't move . I froze where I stood. I wanted to move forward but my legs fell like jell-o ready to fall. I scanned my surroundings but could hardly see anything. I saw two paths , a foggy one from where the scream was coming and the other which was headed towards a beautiful garden.
This was the most beautiful garden I had ever seen with its roses, tulips and chestnuts. Looking at the garden , I had a temptation to go there but the screaming voice still lingered at the back of my mind. I knew I had to go somewhere ; I couldn't stay there forever. But I was stuck between that yet so familiar voice and heaven.
As much as I wanted to ignore the voice , I couldn't. There was something in that voice that was so so familiar that I just couldn't ignore it. Then at that very moment , something happened , a vague memory somewhat blurry occured in my mind.
Blond princess like curls hanging from her forehead , grey mesmerising eyes that you could get lost into and a cute smile that could melt anyone. Annabeth. That name stuck to my head bringing me back to reality and at that moment I decided what I had to do. I forced myself to move forward , towards the foggy road from where the voice came. This time I was determined and no one could stop me. I used every pounce of my strength and walked as fast as I could towards the fog. As I got closer , my heartbeat fastened.
I stood in front of the path watching the fog. The temptation to go was decreasing but the voice still kept me connected. Taking my last breath , I stepped forward and the whole world darkened.
I woke with a start not realizing where I was. My head hurt and my legs didn't move . I could hear the noise of doctors and seeing them realisation hit me; I was in the hospital . Everything came back to me that very instant , the truck , my breaks failing and the crash. As I scanned my surroundings , I saw her ; tears streaming down her face and hand on her mouth. Seeing her face , I realised I had made the right decision.
