A/N: Here's another poem. Enjoy!

Disclaimer: JK Rowling owns Harry Potter. I own nothing

Scene: Neville lets Hermione know how special she is.

-Not Scared Anymore-

I'm shy
I know I am
There's no reason to deny
I've always been scared
Especially in Potions
Where I shrivel
Underneath Snape's glare

My spells go awry
I can mess up any potion
I don't even have to try!

Every test sends
Shivers down my spine
But today
I'm tired of being scared
Of being a klutz
And afraid of every dare

Today I will confess
My deepest feelings
What I feel
Whenever you're near me

Your smile inspires me
To stand up to Snape
Your vivid eyes tell me
That success is never too late
Your voice whispers
That I will win
Even when my chances seem dim

Your presence
Fills me with courage
When you're near
I can feel all my worries disappear

With you around
there's nothing I can't do
I can yell at Snape
Defeat a boggart
Even answer a question in Charms
And show I'm smart

I can duel with the best
Play Quidditch
And pass the Potions test
You've helped me
Accomplish all of this
And more

There's just one last thing
I need to do
To bring my cowardice
To an end
I want to say "Thanks"
Hermione,
for being my friend

A/N: Eh, not my best poem. I'm not even sure it makes sense... Cut me some
slack though- I just finished a horrid exam with many essay questions....shudder

Oh, thanks to the people who reviewed my last poem: Eternal Beauty. It really
cheered me up! But I think I should clear up some confusion over this unusual
poem. Yes, Ron did call Hermione "ugly," which is quite mean. Heck, I hope
Hermione gave him a few good punches!

Remember, however, that they were in a heated argument. Of course he isn't going
to be nice! Just because he said some hurtful things to Hermione when he was
angry doesn't mean he really thinks she's the most hideous thing that walked through
Hogwarts. Besides, this is RON we're talking about. He's not exactly a Casanova,
is he?

The point is that he's saying Hermione, though not stunningly beautiful, is pretty in
her own way. This beauty is projected from her lovely personality, not so much
from her physical appearance. Physical beauty fades as you age, but inner beauty
is eternal. Thus, Hermione possesses eternal beauty. Make sense? :)
