I wrote this originally as a birthday present for a friend. This is the re-uploaded version, thank you to those who messaged me. I pray this works and if it doesn't, well time to fix it again! I hope you enjoy! Reviews really do help. But you aren't obligated to leave one.

It was the saddest day of her life.
The day her mother died. And she was painfully reminded all the time. She could see the mothers shopping with their daughters. Or newly made moms smiling with their babies held close, promising to never leave their side.
A promise that her own mother had made to her.
It was always on that day, that she would cry. That she wouldn't go into town, or anyone for that matter. She knew that she shouldn't be grieving like this, but she couldn't help it.

It was the saddest day of his life.
The day his father left him. He wasn't alone in it at least. The other two felt the same, and they were also cooped up at home.
And then he was reminded when he saw the father with their sons. Carrying their children on their shoulders or scolding them playfully. Promising to never abandon them.
A promise his own father had made to him.
This was the one day he stayed curled up and cried. He would be there screaming for everyone to go away. And calmly his companion would pretend to leave, or go outside. He knew the boy didn't really want to be alone.

It would have been the saddest day of their lives. Yes, like it normally was. But it was odd today. Both uncurled themselves and walked into town.
Both of them marched straight to the place that mattered to both of them. Both of them walked confidentiality even with light doubts in their minds.
And when they both got there, they each saw the puffy red eyes and the tear streaks. And they stopped thinking about themselves and their own pains.
The girl reached out to touch the boy's face and the boy embraced the girl. And they both just stood there, standing in front of the guild hall. Silently crying in each other's arms, both holding on tight. It was a life line for them.
And they didn't care that the door was open, and that everyone saw. Everyone just watched in amazement as the two comforted each other. And when the couple pulled apart, everyone saw a slight smile forming on their faces. The girl lightly blushing and the boy with a real smile.

It was the saddest day of the lives but also the happiest.
Because even as they were reminded of their parents long since gone, they weren't alone anymore. They were always together, holding hands and each other. They made their own promises to each other.
To love each other until the end of their days and beyond.
