Daily Prophet

Hi, I'm Jeremy Hornby, a writer for the Daily Prophet. Well actually I'm Rita Skeeter's assistant. None of my work has been published yet. In these pages and chapters to follow my rejected articles will be shared with you, along with my side commentary. These articles follow the life of Harry Potter's existence.

Dear Journal,

My neighbors, Mr. and Mrs. Potter, had a baby. Its name is Harry. I can't stand it; the thing always cries and gets all the attention. I'm so much cuter, funnier and smarter and I'm not a baby. Mummy and Daddy say that I'm overreacting, yeah, I don't think so.

I'm so ashamed to admit this, but when I was younger I didn't exactly like Harry. I was 11 at the time, the youngest of the neighborhood, when Harry came into this world.

Dear Journal,

The Potters are gone. Their house next door is empty. Mummy and Daddy, when asked, only told me that the Potters are in a safer place.

Looking back on it now, I thought they had moved away, but really they, as most of you know, had gone into hiding. At the time I was so happy because, with Harry gone, I was the little tike of the neighborhood again.

Dear Journal,

I'm not allowed outside anymore, if you look outside, at the sky, its pitch black. My parents have begun to argue about our 'situation'. What they were talking about involved dark wizards rising into power.

He-who-must-not-be-named was getting stronger as was his group of followers at that time. Many people had a plan to escape from the death eaters if needed. My parents were arguing about whether our family should move immediately or wait for a little longer. They chose to wait a little longer.
