What I lost

This isnt supposed to hurt. This pain that is ripping through my chest isn't supposed to exist. I don't, wont grieve for you, you were as good as dead to me, way should I care that it is now official?

Petunia Dursley stood besides the brown mound that was now her sister's grave, a letter grasped firmly in her hand. Her sister lost to a world, which by birth shouldn't of been hers.

She felt her knee's buckle underneath her as she fell to the ground, staring into the grey tombstone and with a shaking hand she reached out and followed the in-graved lettering with a bony finger, a single tear slowly making its way down her face.

Do you remember the good times? When we were young, carefree and innocent? You sitting on the swing begging me to push you higher, sitting on dad's lap together while he read to us from our favourite fairy tale, about dragons, and princesses being locked away in a high tower till her charming prince came and rescued her.

We had been so close, before it arrived, that letter, the letter that changed everything. You left me behind, You chose magic over me, You broke me that day, the one where you walked out of my life, leaving me with just mom and dad for company, no more swings and no more fairy tales.

I hated you for it, but I hated magic more. Every year of you went to that school and coming back as though nothing had changed between us still trying to be what we were once were, but everything had changed, I had changed. I tried to cover up the hurt you were causing me, ignoring you, calling you names like freak, for to me that is what you were.

Now your gone again, though this time, you didn't leave me behind, you left your son, he like you has the same weakness running through his veins, history will repeat itself, with people like you it always does. And again I will be the left behind picking up the pieces.

Look where magic got you, you should of stayed behind with me, where you would have been safe and I would not be here right now at this place. But no of you went like a good girl making mommy and daddy proud turning rats into tea cups, making things fly. Well what about me lily? Did I mean that little to you? You left me behind to tackle the world by myself. And now your gone again your son left in my care.

For once again, Magic took you away from me.
