They are the ANBU

The best of the best

The special ops of the village

Those that take the most suicidal, the most dangerous, the most mysterious missions

They are the ANBU

They kill without mercy

They fight to the last

They win at any cost

They are the ANBU

He is a weapon

He is the sword, poised to slit the enemy's throat

He is ANBU

He kills without mercy

He fights to the last

He wins at any cost

He is ANBU

This is war

This is hell

He is ANBU

He is regrouping

He has no arm

He lost it in the last charge

He is ANBU

He fights to the last

He is ANBU

He knows the end is coming

He checks his remaining equipment

He ignores the pain lancing through him

He is ANBU

He ignores the torrents of blood gushing out of him

He is ANBU

He wonders where it all comes from

He then remembers

He has 15 kunai

He only needs two

He is ANBU

He has just enough explosive tags to make his plan work

He knows the enemy is coming

He knows that bastard will be leading them personally

He knows that he must take him out

He is ANBU

He grips the kunai tighter between his teeth and feels the rough leather in his hand

He lights the time delayed tag

He charges the enemy

He cuts and slashes, wreaking havoc on the shinobi

He found him

He found HIM

He will kill him

He is ANBU

He knows his time is up; the tag is burning down and his vision blurring

He is going to take that fucker out

He embraces the bastard like a brother

He embeds the kunai in his heart

He feels his body disintegrate; the tags have exploded

He was ANBU

He killed without mercy

He fought to the last

He won at any cost

He was ANBU

AN: I wrote this after I read some stuff on the Congressional Medal of Honor. Those guys are the real deal; they are the real heroes of the world. After World War One the criteria for achieving a Medal of Honor was tightened so that only those that exhibited extreme bravery while engaged in combat against an enemy. Since this change, approximately 60 of the Medal of Honor recipients have been awarded the medal posthumously. This is just my crappy way of saying thanks and I can't believe like them still exist.
