As she beckoned him into her warm embrace,
making the most of the closet's tight space.
His lips on her neck, eliciting a moan,
Pulling back to see that her pupils were blown.
Things were escalating quickly, (If you know what I mean)
The sounds they were making were borderline obscene!
"Keep quiet, Castle!" hissed Kate. "I really am trying!
You're actually not helping with your gasping and sighing!"

As his fingers started to work along her seam,
Sex at the precinct had only once been a dream!
But now she indulged him on many occasions,
To be perfectly honest, it didn't take much persuasion.
And as their clothes made their way to the floor
It freed up new places for them to explore.
"Thank God the station's empty," Kate breathlessly spoke
"Yeah, if Gates ever knew, my clearance would be revoked!"

And in a moment of timing nothing less than ironic
"When you two are through..." came Gates' voice dry and sardonic.
"Castle, put on your pants!" Kate's voice now was gruff,
The scene that followed after was, to put it lightly, rough.
"THREE WEEKS BANNED FROM THE PRECINCT?!", Kate said with a roar
"Babe, we were naked, be glad it's not several more."
"I'm not surprised, really, we were pushing our luck,
Just be glad she doesn't know all the places we've…"

"CASTLE! It is so not the time to go down memory lane!"
But they kept true to their word, their marriage never mundane.
And if past history was a prediction of things yet to come,
Suspensions have proven themselves to be fun.
"Now where were we, Mrs. Castle?" A gleam returned to his eye.
"The 'Where' was our problem," was Kate's sarcastic reply.
As his fingers touched her skin, she came back to the present,
Suppressing the memories of the night, so unpleasant.

"If I remember correctly, you were wearing much less."
Kate worked at his buttons, to get him undressed.
And as their clothing again found their way to the floor,
This time there wasn't a knock on the door.
Alone, together, they had the loft to themselves,
Which is convenient, with see-through book shelves.
The phone didn't ring, or at least was ignored.
And honestly I think that deserves an award.

A profession of love written upon skin,
Not knowing where one ends and another begins.
Both fully sated, with her head on his chest,
He'd had no idea, and couldn't have guessed,
That they'd ever be here, partners in every way.
That she'd be his joy, on every worst day.
And as they both drifted off to sleep,
Just moments before, it settled in deep.

"Rick, I love you." Kate murmured into his chest.
"Always." He replied with a gentle caress.
