The mutant called Gambit didn't know why he felt such a connection to the young woman called Rogue. Yet when she bumped into him there during the battle Magneto brought him to fight against her and her fellow X-Men, he knew there was a spark.

As their eyes met he seen for just an instance that he no longer followed Magneto and joined the X-Men to by her side.

What possessed him to give her that card (The Queen of Hearts if he remembered correctly) charged with explosive energy he can't figure out. Maybe it was because he knew she was untouchable or that he had been roaming so long that settling down was a frightening concept. He couldn't help feeling that he found his one true love and his best friend.

He couldn't say why but after his encounter with her he felt whole and with purpose. As though when he looked into her eyes he found what he had been missing throughout his life. He found the purpose he had spent his life searching for. Love, true love, Love that made its home within her beautiful green eyes. And as he left the battle he whispered to himself the words he wished he would have said to her. The words that seemed too crazy to come from his devil's tongue.
